Homebrew Switch Hacking & Homebrew Discussion

Exceptions are possible to get controlled regardless of the OS handling it.. There are massive amounts of ways to do global exception handlers even on windows. Lots of applications have it calling MS (for dumping, and presenting information) yet its still exploitable... It looks more like a...

Homebrew Switch Hacking & Homebrew Discussion

I've been considering how the device works.. using DNS, and the browser (or manipulation of news, or eshop) should work to load things into memory for almost any exploit (whether you get to control data for a game through their own protocols like multi player, or others with the OS itself, or...

Homebrew Switch Hacking & Homebrew Discussion

True but I'm pretty sure you could setup some memory.. It is between 3 subsystems and it depends on their memory allocation functions. I will do my best to work with it a little, although its difficult since I'm traveling. I'm positive its using external manipulable resources, so it really...

LOL.. check out a patent with things ive designed: http://www.freepatentsonline.com/y2015/0186296.html then tell me if u have doubts ;) everything i work on is very low level (asm modifications, exploits, security.. etc).. Homebrew Switch Hacking & Homebrew Discussion

It is not a browser exploit, and didn't require a game.. pretty sure it would work well if someone has a dump.. I could even take a shot if someone either dumped NAND, or did SSL man in the middle during an exploit (hoping that its not encrypted beyond SSL.. but probably is).. either way msg me...

Homebrew Switch Hacking & Homebrew Discussion

I am going to attempt to get the information together for anyone who wants to take a shot.. but i think it'd be smart for people who are already able to exploit the first vuln .. since they would knnow more abouut the internal API, and addresses.. otherwise it'd just go to waste if i post it here...

Hacking Suggestion Downloading Switch updates on PC for hacking purposes

Ok.. I setup an android with tethering, rooted it and used tcpdump.. (no access to router right now) I have two packet captures of the data.. I know people have access to them on the forum, etc but I didn't, and nobody has shared them.. Feel free to let me know if you need them... Anyways, the...

Hacking Suggestion Downloading Switch updates on PC for hacking purposes

I'm considering working with hacking the switch. I mainly just wanna be able to modify my Zelda BoTW save games.. (durability, etc, etc) It seems people abused older Nintendo products by manipulating save files to exploit games which had employees who were not security savvy... so they...

Eventhough the New 3DS XL is more powerful, I still feel like the DS Lite was a more polished system. It's a real shame that it never got an XL variant keeping the GBA slot. You'd have to go on AliExpress and buy an ML shell to give a DS phat the unofficial "DS Lite" treatment, and that's the best we'll ever get I'm afraid.

The phat model had amazingly loud speakers tho.

@Jayro, I don't see whats so special about the DS ML, its just a DS lite in a phat shell. At least the phat model had louder speakers, whereas the lite has a much better screen.

They probably said "Hey, why not we combine the two together and make a 'new' DS to sell".
  • Veho @ Veho:
It's a DS Lite in a slightly bigger DS Lite shell.

    It's not a Nintendo / iQue official product, it's a 3rd party custom.

Nothing special about it other than it's more comfortable than the Lite
    for people with beefy hands.

@SylverReZ if you could find a v5 DS ML you would have the best of both worlds since the v5 units had the same backlight brightness levels as the DS Lite unlockable with flashme
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
    but that's a long shot
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
i think only the red mario kart edition phat was v5

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

anyways, we need to re-normalize physical media

if i didn't want my games to be permanent, then i'd rent them

  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.
  • AncientBoi @ AncientBoi:
    I don't pirate them, I Use Them :mellow:. Like I do @BigOnYa 's couch :tpi::evil::rofl2:

@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM
  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm
