Hacking Hardware Picofly - a HWFLY switch modchip

Thanks lol. I do not have the hand eye coordination or tools for something quite that clean, unfortunately. I'll isolate the wires and try again.

Hacking Hardware Picofly - a HWFLY switch modchip

Every time I've opened one up, it's looked like that so I just wanted to leave it like I found it. I can clean up the paste but I'm almost certain it's non-conductive and if that was the problem, I would think it wouldn't work at all.

Hacking Hardware Picofly - a HWFLY switch modchip

I'm having a strange issue- the glitch consistently works with the apu shield up, and consistently doesn't with the apu shield down. Any clue what could be happening? (I've attached some pictures of the install, those are the best I can get without desoldering connections.

I'm resoldering the mosfets (and going from 1 to 2), if it still isn't working I'll give pictures.

Are there any i2c solder points on a v1 erista? Getting an unstable glitch on it but the pads normally listed aren't there.

I just saw that I managed to completely miss a video link in the guide showing how to solder the cable on, I'll use that.

I found a guide for the picofly in general, but not the hwfly cable. I know where to solder the mosfets but I don't know the traces of the cable, if I should solder the pads to the frame, if I should solder on both sides of the caps, etc. (I've been using the "definitive picofly install guide")

I was wondering about that... I couldn't find any guides on using a flex cable so I just put it on lol Speaking of not having a guide- which points do I even solder?

Here's the cable. I know it's really messy, I'm going to try and fix that with a toothbrush and maybe some q-tips. I haven't cleaned up the solder points yet, but I'm going to wait on that since the issue seems to be with the cpu, as I don't get error codes for the connections to any of the...

    Picofly AIO Thread

Here's some images of the install outside of the cpu, I'm going to wait a bit before looking in the cpu to give it time to cool down. (also I know it's really messy, I'm going to clean it all up once it's working.) (edit: partially related, do y'all have any advice for cleaning that copper pad...

Got the rst connected like jkyoho said! It's now giving a "no glitch reaction" error. I'm using an hwfly cable, is there anything I can do to check or improve the functionality?

oh, I was working on an edit when you posted. Edit says everything important I can think of, and thank you for the help!

    Picofly AIO Thread

It's 2 short, then long pause before another 2 short. My confusion is that there is no code for 4 short, so I assume it's just repeating 2 short but I'm not certain. (edit): I plan on testing the continuity between rst on the board and rst on the pico. The other possible issue is that I used the...

    Picofly AIO Thread

I've installed a picofly in a v2 switch, but when I tried turning it on, the battery is dead... I get blue, then 2 yellows, a long pause, then two more yellows. Does that mean it is a problem with reset or could it just be because the battery is low? And is it safe to charge without all the heat...
