PS1/2 PFS BatchKit Manager PS2 HDD (2TB) Support

Great, looking forward to this. PFS Batchkit is a great utility for the PS2! I am using the NBD server. The cache takes a while, not sure if it is 10mins total. The PS2 games install does take more than 10 minutes. I thought it would be fast as the laptop and PS2 are connected via ethernet...

PS1/2 PFS BatchKit Manager PS2 HDD (2TB) Support

I used the latest version of PFS BatchKit Manager connected via BDN to my PS2 and OPL to install the Popstarter binaries and install a VCD on the hard drive. I did the binaries 1st and then copied the Crash Bandicoot VCD. PFS told me I needed a __.POPS partition so I created it before PFS...

PS2 Fat boots FHDB but won't load apps like OPL

Oh well, I might just have to live with booting from FMCB and not the HDD.

Let us know if it worked with the different SATA adapter.

PS2 Fat boots FHDB but won't load apps like OPL

Let me know if it works! 1690931014 Well that didn't work so it must not have a Modbo 5.0 modchip

What is the combination you use to disable that modchip,?

PS2 Fat boots FHDB but won't load apps like OPL

Did that, also installed the latest Noobie version and re-formatted. 1690830496 Do you think if I bought the Legacy adapter which seems to be popular on Amazon instead of the GameStar I currently have it might fix the issue or are they all the same?

The FMCB configurator won't load either. It black screens launching any . ELF file

PS2 Fat boots FHDB but won't load apps like OPL

It is the GameStar adapter. Do you think if I try the Kaico one it might work? It seems to have better results but neither is the original network adapter which is hard to find these daysm 1690643248 It's GameStar adapter. I tried two totally different HDDs and they both had same issue (2TB...

PS2 Fat boots FHDB but won't load apps like OPL

Yes I did format the drive on PS2 using HD Manager the ulaunchelf. And I have FMCB loaded on memory card and it can launch OPL and play games of the HDD no problem. The system works 100% with FMCB on the memory card but booting FHDB off the HDD, it fails to run any app after a successful boot to...

PS2 Fat boots FHDB but won't load apps like OPL

Hi, I have a PS2 Fat, just got a SATA HDD connector. Installed FHDB on the hard drive several different ways and all versions available (even tried version that supposed work with mod chips although I don't think my system has one). The PS2 will boot FHDB but when it gets to the System menu...

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

anyways, we need to re-normalize physical media

if i didn't want my games to be permanent, then i'd rent them

  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.

@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM

  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm

  • rqkaiju2 @ rqkaiju2:
i like physical media because it actually feels like you own it. thats why i plan on burning music to cds
  • cearp @ cearp:
It's nice to not have to have a lot of physical things though, saves space

Nor clothes 🤮 . Saves on time, soap, water and money having to wash them. :D

@rqkaiju2, Physical media is a great source for archiving your data, none of that cloud storage shiz.
