    For PS4 Disc Games you can update them to a specific patch on a HEN PS4 & copy to the PS5 via USB.

    Yeah you can use External HDD to play PS4 Games on the PS5 which is perfectly fine and can also store PS5 Games on the External if need space on the Internal instead of deleting them.

    I would just get an external HDD or SSD for now and play PS4 Games from that. You can update your legit PS4 Discs from your 5.05 PS4 with an homebrew app on the PS4 I forget the name of it then take the External HDD/SSD back to the PS5 with updates installed.
