ROM Hack Rhythm Tengoku Translation - Rhythm Heaven Silver

Do the save files work on unpatched roms? My guess would be the save files on gamefaqs are the wrong format for whatever emulator you're using. I use VBA and my save files are .sav format (battery backed saves). My save files work on both patched and unpatched ROMs.

Are you able to patch a rom without using the save files from gamefaqs? Can you use the save files on an unpatched rom? It's not clear to me if the translation patch is responsible for any part of this problem.

I've been using some semi-professional voice actors I met through a connection at my job, but if anyone wants to provide voice acting, feel free to send in a recording. One long MP3/4 is fine. All I do is put it in Audacity to cut it apart. You can just send it to me or What through the message...

Heya folks, We seem to have figured out how to edit the sounds in the game. We can insert WAV files, though we need files to work with. There are a total of twelve sound effects: Turn: Attention Right: Right Left: Left March: Company... Start: March! Halt: Halt! With each effect repeated...

This was hidden in the part of the Cat Machine / Meow Mixer that is normally off screen and not visible. I have no idea what it means, but it looks neat.

I think we will be done editing Japanese graphics this week, and then they just need to be inserted. That'll just leave the sound and a couple of technical hacks left to wrap things up.

Yup, I checked it out and fixed it. Like What said, it was in our list but we never saw it appear so I left it obvious so somebody would know to report it. Thanks so much for the bug report! It's reassuring to see people are trying odd stuff to look for hard-to-spot texts. We're getting close...

Huh, pretty good catch! Can you clarify what "pretty good but fail" means? I'm having trouble reproducing this.

The goal is to keep it compatible on original hardware, but we're not sure if some of our fiddling may cause problems. So far it's been good - there are screenshots earlier in the thread showing the translation running on real hardware from others who have downloaded the WIP patches.

Borrowed the concept from Fever. I wouldn't put much time into Built to Scale - we've got a very talented graphics guy helping us out to do that hard stuff. I understand he's already on that case while I wrap up the easier edits. What we really need is a sound guy or gal to do the Marcher...

ROM Hack Rhythm Tengoku Translation - Rhythm Heaven Silver

This was pretty grueling. The opening animation has over 100 frames, and the tiles are all mixed up (each box is four tiles before I edited them to be a single 32x32 tile). The original game even has a messed up animation where the first letter vanishes for a frame. You can see it if you run the...

We're already well past Sneaky Spirits. It was translated in the Wii version of Rhythm Heaven Fever, and we just copied that font.

I'm actually further ahead than this. I did the all the remix title cards since they were so similar. MRE did a great job on the "Remix" font and I just had to insert it in seven more tile sheets and copy the numbers. There are a couple of lingering issues like one game's title card that won't...

The phat model had amazingly loud speakers tho.

@Jayro, I don't see whats so special about the DS ML, its just a DS lite in a phat shell. At least the phat model had louder speakers, whereas the lite has a much better screen.

They probably said "Hey, why not we combine the two together and make a 'new' DS to sell".

It's a DS Lite in a slightly bigger DS Lite shell.

    It's not a Nintendo / iQue official product, it's a 3rd party custom.

Nothing special about it other than it's more comfortable than the Lite

@SylverReZ if you could find a v5 DS ML you would have the best of both worlds since the v5 units had the same backlight brightness levels as the DS Lite unlockable with flashme

    but that's a long shot

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

anyways, we need to re-normalize physical media

if i didn't want my games to be permanent, then i'd rent them

  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.
  • AncientBoi @ AncientBoi:
    I don't pirate them, I Use Them :mellow:. Like I do @BigOnYa 's couch :tpi::evil::rofl2:

  • cearp @ cearp:
@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM
  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm
  • rqkaiju2 @ rqkaiju2:
i like physical media because it actually feels like you own it. thats why i plan on burning music to cds
