So basically the safest thing to do is just get the CIA with CIAngel and install it with FBI? (Installing it with ciangel installs the ticket too but downloading doesn't iirc)
I admit I like the eshop thing for convenience, but I don't want to take too much risk.
Probably a question with an obvious answer. but is it safe to download off Eshop after getting a ticket off this?
Getting stuff from Nintendo off their own turf just makes me feel a bit cautious.
I will never need to use this for anything dangerous really (though never say never) but it's nice to have a file manager on arm9 boot to fiddle about with my cias and things.
Luma makes it nice with it's L+button to boot it.
It seems to be a bit smaller, and I would assume it's what all future things will use.
Is it as simple as backup the Emunand in decrypt9, format SD to set up Rednand, then just restore Emunand onto it?
I set up A9Lh back when it was fairly new and AuReiNand was the only option, but it seems Cakes is a now a thing too.
To my understanding Cakes has more features, but could someone give me an idea on what it has over AuReiNand, if anything?
I'm using Sysnand. Mostly because I use a lot of GBA (I only have to install it once) and I might as well go for the faster speed.
I still have a 9.2 emunand hanging around in case I need to switch it back one day.
Probably answered already, but my take:
1. Is it true that you will have to go back to a firmware which is 2.xx? If yes, how will that work with N3DS? The firm 2.xx is not made for N3DS and might be missing some components to run the system.
Correct. Basically you have to downgrade to a hacked...
There's probably plenty, but it tends to be an ends to a need thing. We have various working ones now so no one is really looking for them.
And that's probably for the best. Nintendo actively works to stop these entrypoints, so if they do manage to kill them it's wise not to bring other cards...
