I have tried two different SD cards, one SanDisk 32GB class 4 card, and one unbranded 32GB "class 10" card, which had a write speed of around 25MB/s iirc, but it still has audio stuttering and minor slowdowns on the title screen.

I'm not sure what else I can do, other than trying with a real SanDisk class 10 card, but I think I only have one of those, and it's currently in use, so I was hoping I could find another solution before resorting to that.

The parallel uses a very old wood kernel as the basis, and as such still has a lot of compatibility issues other r4 cards with newer kernels don't have. So there's a high chance it's the firmware and not the microSD that is causing issues.

Ah, I see. Thank you for the info, I hadn't thought of that being a possibility.

Is there a newer kernel I could use in the meantime, until EZ-FLASH further updates theirs?

UPDATE: The issue still persists on Kernel 1.05.

I believe it may have something to do with the slow SD card read speed someone mentioned in another thread.

Try a different SD card or use one of the formatting tools provided in my signature.

I've tried this game on 2 micro sd card, also a 32gb no name class 10, and a Sandisk Ultra 128gb speed 10 formatted with GUIFormat and both had the audio issue on 1.04 and 1.05
Those same sd cards were then put in an old DSTT and the same game runs without issue.
So as RAHelllord said, it's not an SD card issue but either software or hardware issue on the Parallel

Doesn’t the parallel also use the SD card hella inefficiently? I could have sworn I saw a sd card stress test comparison between it and an R4 and the parallel was miles behind in speed

It's Read/Write speed is roughly 40-60% slower then any cheap clone (the benchmark you've seen).

If that is fixable by a Firmware Update, is the question, because if not, even with perfect "AP fixes, etc" the cards would suffer from it's speeds forever on some niche games / less used games.

The EZ Flash is just disappointing at this point.

I have the same issue here, with both 1.04 and 1.05. Definitely seems related to the read speeds, as Castlevania Dawn of Sorrow lags hard in the FMV intro. I was wondering if YSMenu is compatible with the parallel, so we could use in the meantime. I'm a little afraid of trying it though.. This would be a great test, because if it works fine we will be able to confirm that this is just a kernel issue that can be fixed via updates, not hardware bound.
