Dear internet community I am having great difficulty trying to use gecko codes on a Gamecube disc via Gecko OS. The process works fine for Wii games but not on Gamecube games. When attempting to load Gamecube games I do not get the “SD codes found applying ” message that I see when loading Wii games and the game loads normally without codes. This makes me think I might have the GCT file in the wrong folder. Is it possible that Gamecube codes go in a different folder than Wii codes? I have my GCT file (example “GMSE01.gct” for Super Mario Sunshine) in the “codes” folder on the root of my sd card. I am using the latest version of Gecko OS and have tried using all available hook types to no avail. I have also tried patching ios 36 as suggested on a forum I visited but got the same result. I have SCOURED the internet and found a handful of people having the same problem at least 2 of them claim to have resolved the issue but failed to post any info as to how and those threads have been dead for some time. Any help troubleshooting this issue would be GREATLY appreciated as I have been struggling with it for quite a while now and I’m getting rather frustrated.

PS This has been posted to both Reddit and GBATemp

I think they need to be on the same storage as the games for Nintendont. Might be wrong though.

Why not use USB Loader GX to load your gamecube disc with cheats enabled in the options. There is an option to launch retail game discs.

Ohh I missed the Gecko OS part. I'm not 100% sure, but I think you need a cMIOS (WiiGator cMIOS is the one to use) to use Gecko OS patches with GameCube discs.
You can launch GameCube discs through Nintendont, this is probably better since you can take advantage of all the extra features offered by it, and a cMIOS isn't required. cMIOS is very outdated, and barebones by comparison. It's been so long, I don't remember if all the Gecko OS features even work with GameCube games.
Swiss is also a better alternative to Gecko OS (think this also requires cMIOS to run), it supports a lot of the same features as Nintendont, and all the features of Gecko OS + more, though Nintendont has the most features thanks to running natively in Wii mode so it can support Wii controllers and USB devices and more.

They should just work after you install the cMIOS. (Not the same thing as cIOS, cMIOS is specifically for GC, used to be used back in the day to play burned GameCube discs and even ISOs, but nowadays isn't really used anymore since we have Nintendont which does more and works better)
