Since I stopped paying for PS Now (wasn't really playing the game enough to make it worth it), I was considering getting a PS3 just for that game, so I was really happy when the port was announced. Really been enjoying it so far and played it way more frequently than I did on PS Now.

Even though I did have to start over, I found some things that I never found on my original save, and managed to do a quest or two that I hadn't been able to complete yet on my original save, so I guess it was worth it. Also made more progress in less time, original save was about 20 hrs, I'm 35 hrs in now and feels like I'm getting near the end.

Idk how focused you are on 100%ing it or Plat Trophy it but see if you can catch as many different familiars as possible, game requires 150 unique ones for a trophy ;p

I'm playing it on Switch so no trophies.
I've been catching everything I can, but I'm not too worried about it since I'll never use them anyway. But I definitely want to do every quest, get all the alchemy recipes and open every chest. Spent a good while yesterday getting all those hidden chests on the map once I got the spell for it.

Never even knew there were hidden chests on the map until I got that spell. How are you ever supposed to find them without it?

Dumb luck.
First time I played it, I accidentally walked to far into the brush whilst exploring the map, it loaded me into one of the hidden forest areas and I saw a chest.
But yeh, once you've gotten some freeroam spells, that game becomes bigger then it perceives haha.
Oh, make sure you jump whilst running in the overworld, you'll be traveling faster altho you could use Tengri.

So jumping actually does make you run faster? It seemed like it might, but if so it's so slight that I can't tell by the camera movement.

Yeh, I quickly figured it out when I had to traverse the desert a few times, Swaine, Esther and Drippy kept on slowly falling behind haha.

They usually fall behind anyway as they keep getting stuck on things or just bugging out... The AI in this game is dumb as fuck.

Was playing the card games in the casino and the AI is so predictable, especially in Platoon, I hardly have to make an effort. Currently sitting at ~250K tokens and wondering how many I need to open up the VIP area

There's a few things you can view in the cinema section for tokens iirc.
Oh, and you should be able to get some familiars for tickets and items from the gift shop.
Platoon is the best way to farm tokens.

If you want to farm XP, go to Ugly Duckling Isle and farm Toko's (little green creatures that will flee in battle so be quick) or Billy Goat Bluff and farm Tokotoko, they drop 8k XP? use Veil to cover yourself to make sure the enemies won't flee.

Yeah, I got the Idler ticket, the other one doesn't interest me much because it's golden. Also, to unlock A and S rank items do I just have to get more tokens or is it based on story progression?

I noticed that. I was farming tokens in blackjack at first cause I love me some blackjack, but it takes a lot of luck to win enough times in a row to win big. In Platoon I win 80% of the time. I just make all the stacks around 15-18 in value, put jokers with the lowest value card I have (the AI always puts it with high value cards lol), and put kings on their own.

The aces suck and I don't understand how they work, so I just put them on their own as having one in a stack seems to make me lose.

@K3Nv2 He was looking into consoles for his house anyway (for my younger siblings and himself) and I had a spare XSX and Switch I ended up selling him at pretty steep cuts. I would just give them to him, but I did buy them with the intent to sell them... and college is super expensive.
