Luckily Amazon seems to have commercialized this to the point where you just click a button that says return and you can instantly print a DHL return label and return it for free and they also ship the replacement before receiving the return. So considering I am overseas that is pretty good service.
Never had a MicroSD card just fail on me like that right out of the box though, and I've owned a lot of SanDisk cards that are ancient and still work just fine. I think I just got really unlucky.
Makes me question if saving the $20 by buying it on Amazon instead of locally was even worth the hassle. Not something I would normally bother with but I was ordering some other stuff on there anyways so adding one more thing to my order made sense.
I have rarely used Amazon before mainly as they didn't seem to ship most items to Norway and I had to rely on 3rd party sellers for that but that seems to have improved now and they will ship pretty much anything at very reasonable shipping costs to boot.
I don't know how their shipping/logistics makes any financial sense when I ordered 5 items and paid $30 in shipping and they split it up into 4 packages when it's all coming from the same warehouse. They must be getting some huge bulk discounts that most other online stores could only dream of. Overseas shipping from US usually starts at like $20 for a smallish envelope, cheapest method by USPS.
Eh, some claim Samsung cards are more reliable, but I think they're both pretty equal. SanDisk cards have just been around for a lot longer so more of them have had a chance to fail. I've had a couple fail on me, both of them were in my smartphone and stuff is constantly writing to the SD card in Android so they just wear out.
One is still working(?) it was randomly going read only requiring me to reboot my phone to fix it, until it just went full read only, it seemed to have some uncorrectable bad clusters in chkdsk and I had a bunch of corrupted files but after a format it seems fine and chkdsk reports all good, I don't trust it anymore though.
The other just kinda died but i think i was using App2SD and Data2SD at that point to get more storage on my phone as you couldn't move apps to the SD yet and that obviously had a big effect on the wear.
I may try the new ram site, and download more RAM to my Switch. Not sure if ddr3 is the right ram
for it tho. Edit- no it uses floppy Ram, just like @AncientBoi
