Personally, I'd recommend not playing BDSP, and just getting DeSmuME and a Platinum ROM, since Plat has a ton more content than BDSP, looks beter than BDSP, and fixes issues with DP that BDSP "faithfully" (idiotically) preserved. Also no party-wide EXP or Affection screwing with level curve or battles.

If I wanted to play Platinum, I'd bust out my Old Nintendo DS and play it there. lol, TBH I'm just enjoying the Pearl remake on the switch ATM, It's not as bad as some of you think.

Could've been a lot better, though, had they given the devs more time (and if the co-Director wasn't a known Battle Frontier hater, and a game-challenge hater).
Look at HGSS and ORAS, and kinda-sorta LGPE; they all reinvented their regions, visually, gameplay-wise, and narratively. BDSP doesn't.

I'm pretty sure they will get around to fixing it. Look at games like ACNH.. That game was hardly finished when it first came out, and now it's a fully finished game, it just took them time to get it all said and done.

Except that Pokemon rarely ever gets "fixed" after the initial game; they could've done it back on the 3DS to quell anger over ORAS's exclusion of the Battle Frontier, but they didn't. Or they could've worked on replacing models made for the unused Sky Battles with better ones.

Even with Sword/Shield, did the DLC or updates "fix" anything wrong with the base game? Nope, not at all. And since BDSP were co-directed by Masuda, we're almost certainly NOT going to get "fixes" or notable additions.
As for SS's DLC, that was directed by Hiroyuki Tani, not Masuda (he was a producer), which shows in how they were far better than the base game.

i'mma stay optimistic!

Comparing Pokemon to Animal Crossing is just ludicrous; one is developed by Nintendo EPD and actually has a roadmap laid out, whilst the other is developed by a group led by a guy who has lost touch with his series' fanbase, and has no roadmap.
Completely different.

We are flat-out NOT going to get any fixes for BDSP's biggest issues - single-use TMs, party-wide EXP, Affection being tied to friendship instead of separate, the complete lack of visual identity, the lack of a Battle Frontier, the lacklustre initial Candice/Volkner/Flint teams.
It's been like this ever since XY, in 2013.

I hate ordering stuff online if I can go buy it somewhere close to me, and everywhere anymore will give you a discount only if you order it online, bs. Should be a discount if I go pick it up, not order online.
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
I love it for most things most stores you just shows the receipt online and they scan it

Makes it easy for incompetent restaurant staff that don't know how to hear an order
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Mostly for big purchases, I want it in my hands before I pay. Like a tv, I trust picking it up myself, before I'd trust it being sent thru mail/delivery. (Broken screen, etc) But yea if I can order online, then pickup at store is ok, but not all places offer that.

Thing is, if you break it driving back to your house, it's your fault. But if the delivery driver damages it, it's not your fault.

Most people that haul big tvs have empty trucks or know enough not to set it face down
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Then I gotta send it back and wait another week or two. I have a pickup truck, with a extended cab, so no prob for me.
