Referring to Google Auth here, if I'm right in assuming there are better apps that have this functionality and are also secure, let me know if you were about to say.
In a sense, I know if I'm wrong about all authenticator apps having the same kind of once lost always lost feature, there would be people willing to correct me. In that case I would be willing to try out an alternative if someone is enthusiastic enough to recommend me one. Kinda like complaining about YouTube to have someone eager to introduce you to Vanced.
I like andOTP, because you can let the database be encrypted with Android keystore while manual backups are encrypted using a different password of your choice. Aegis is an alternative, but it only has PIN or biometrics unlock which I'm meh about (or you can choose no database encryption at all, but I don't recommend it.) It does offer screenshot prevention though which is a nice touch.
