Depending on amount of data, transferring via external USB SSD might be faster than using 1GBit/s network.

Especially when using big cache. Copy 20GB to slow USB stick. Few seconds later my computer says: "Done"
The only thing that is done, is pulling the data to RAM… then starts waiting for the stick to actually write (no visible progress)
