Thankfully I can remember regular moments as well rather than the lasting memories, and it's just normal. Nostalgia is a hell of a drug and just bloats the real thing you felt in the moment back then.
I was referring to where when the childhood is considered great though. And the point is exactly perspective, your memory is never the real thing you experienced in that moment and looking back into the past always has its own distortions of what happened. It either downplays or exaggerates.
My childhood was really nothing special, but everything feels new and exciting when you're a kid, because everything *is* new to you. It's hard to get excited about anything the way you do when you're a kid. Video games were mind blowing. And I'd go back just to experience them for the first time again.
