Phsycial Media will always be better than digital media. I don't know how and why companies are always pushing the digital media and not really making physical stuff anymore.
I guess they really don't want you to have your own stuff nowadays.
They're moving more towards digital because of retail costs. Fixed costs are numerous. You've got to have the physical space, inventory, personnel, and supply chain to keep the whole system running. Not to mention the cost to make a Blu-ray disc is around $2 to $4
And what does the gamer get? A Blu-ray disc with not the actual game, but a key. I am all for physical media, I want to own it and sell my collection as I please, however, for Sony, Nintendo, and Microsoft. I'm sure it's a pain in the ass. Digital is just an easier solution. Send the game digitally over a server. Boom, it's downloading.
