I was your age when I finally learned to touch type too. It's strange because at first it feels slower, but then it's so nice to never have to look at the keyboard or worry about lighting again
Good stuff! I can't touch type myself but I can type without looking at the keys. Touch typing and like, "proper typing" just feel so foreign and static to me.
Was curious to see the true definition and looked up "touch typing". TIL I'm a "hybrid typist" - I don't use the "home row" keys for positioning, but I also don't have to look at the keyboard to type. I often have my right hand cross onto the left side of the keyboard while I'm typing, and vise versa, for the sake of speed, something that "home row" typists don't typically do afaik.
I think the above pretty much sums me up too. I use the two notched home row keys to get my bearings, and then just kinda fly free with whatever feels natural lol
The whole "home row" thing never clicked with me when I was learning typing in grade school back in the 90s. Just developed my own style of typing over the years.
btw i feel this a good time to remind you guys that sea of thieves was made by rare, who also made DKC1-3 and DK64, alongside banjo kazooie and conker's bad fur day
