I don't see a reason to try Ryzen really. Budget isn't an issue, and if 8700k has better single core performance which'll result in better gaming performance, I'll take that

Well, the Ryzen 7 1800k is even more expensive than the 8700k here. So why should I pay more when I'm not intending to use the extra cores, when I can buy the 8700k and be more future proof?
