@sarkwalvein It's not an excuse when it's completely thought out from the ground up as a feature. (The next part of this reply is exactly four hundred twenty characters long.)
What is the feature? The seemingly "minimal" space saved on not having to fit a battery compartment into the case design, thus only needing to design how the other electronics have to mold around one side of the battery and have only one side of the case mold around the battery instead of having to design the case to mold around both sides of the battery and using up precious space in these increasingly slim iPhones.
All of that is perfect, but still they could replace that molded battery in apple's service workshops if they wanted to, instead of using that as an excuse to slow down cell phones as part of their planned obsolescence.

i feel like i should care more than i actually do since i use an old apple phone, but at the same time it's temporary, was given to me for free, and i'm just using it because the only other option i had was a blackberry curve
