Finding that one game or series that has you hooked isn't an issue. If anything, trying to play a handful of the countless games out there at any given time is enough to make you say "forget it".
To be honest, better to be hooked on a game you like (just hooked, not addicted) rather than waste tons of time looking for stuff to play... For example, my go to game series are Monster Hunter, Pokemon and Ys for when I don't have stuff to play and only play other stuff if I happen to come across them, that way I spend my time playing stuff I like instead of just trying to decide
Guys, by those games, I meant the kinds you can spend thousands of hours upon where you get completely addicted to it. Something like CSGO for instance, just a few examples. Many people I know play these sorts of games for so long, and never play anything else. These are the games and people who I am talking about. ;P
You must move on in life, every great thing must have an end. If you enjoy it, you shouldn't try to suck off of such a game till it dies and gives you nothing. Leave it when you have gained enough out of it and move on to something else.
Another game could teach you so much more, give you new experiences, so it is worth it, and will enrich you more. Or you can of course, play other games while you play that. That's why I was referring to people who only play one particular game.
You're bound to get tired of the same thing at some point, unless you enjoy playing the same thing every day till you say goodbye to the world, then I quite frankly have no words for you. So before you make it so the game you loved becomes a game you now hate because you played so much of it, it is best to leave it before that happens.
Monotony comes in various forms, ironically enough. However, the varying games don't (and likely won't) grant me the satisfaction of what I currently enjoy. Trends and times change, doesn't mean I have to go with the flow if I'm happy where I'm at.
It isn't just about variety. It's about experiencing all sorts of new games, stories and experiences. You may be happy playing the same thing all the time, but you will be even more happier playing many more other games.
Those who play only one game cannot say, because they surely haven't tried it enough. You stick to the same thing for security, in fear of losing something that gives you enjoyment by trying out other new games. Everyone can benefit from new experiences, consistency in life is but a disease.
If you are capable of enjoying a particular game, then you are more than capable of enjoying many others. It just like music, can you only listen to one song all the time? You may enjoy it, but hearing many others is even better. That's the same with everyone.

enough with the psuedo-intellectual babble I play different games, I play whatever I feel like and sometimes that's 1 game for months on end, like others said getting hooked on a game isn't an issue. you make it sound like people that throw themselves on a game are somehow inferior
