Might be a sign that your PC doesn't like Windows 8 in general. "ANYTHING BUT 8!"

Could be. It shipped with Win7.

TBH, I think I would've stuck with 7 until it's "Subscription updates" started. Then move to 10.

I got this laptop used, it was already running Windows 8.1 when I got it.

Couldn't you back step? Assuming you have the product code stuck to the laptop.

I don't see the point, to be honest. Especially now that I have Win10 running on it.

True... But 10 chomps up more resources with all its pre-installed apps. Unless you're using it for work or school/college/uni.

To be fair, Windows 8.1 ran like shit on everything

Like normal W8 doesn't:P W10 may be pretty crap but at least it's leaps and bounds better than the 8s, W7 and XP are still the best though! Microsoft keeps doing this with OSs actually, you get a great OS, then crap, then great again (or at least competent), like W98 (great), W2000 (shit), WXP (best OS ever), WVista (one of worst OSs in history), W7 (really darn good), W8s (crap), W10 (competent)...

I should mention I don't count W8 and 8.1 as different things because they are exactly the same shit, only different bugs and problems:/

Imma put on my tinfoil hat and say that m$ is either screwing with win7/8 or newer programs/peripherals are getting shittier drivers for them. Had win7 on my main rig for ages, ran great. Upgraded to 8, GOT AN SSD, came back to win7 after a year or so, now runs like shit. Tried three different sources for the iso, still ran like shit. Now correlation != Causation but that's some convincing causation right there

I've had driver problems on Win8.1 as well. The Wacom tablet driver stopped working every single time I tried to use it and the only way to fix it was to restart it in the Services window, which only had like a 25% chance of working.
