Hacking Kingston DataTraveler 8 GB no longer works!

I was using this drive a bunch with my Wii back in April with Rev9 I believe. Now when I try to use the USB drive with various loaders, it is no longer detected. I have even tried formatting the drive with various WBFS managers. I have tested with 2 other HDD's which seem to work just fine...

Hacking Wii system memory is full

I installed a couple of channel .wads today and when I did a reset I received a nice large "Wii System Memory is Full" message and it forced me to the data menu. I managed to delete a couple of save files and recover enough blocks to make it back to the system menu. (super smash bros. brawl...

    Hacking Issues...

No matter how many times I try, I can't seem to get the HDD Forwarder.wad to work properly. I would really like to have a USB Loader channel but when I try to access, it says "what?" up in the upper left hand corner and then the Wii restarts. Also, when I try to play Mortal Kombat: Armageddon...

    Hacking Losing blocks

I am concerned with how many blocks I have left free on my Wii. I can't remember what I started out with, I think somewhere in the range of 900 and something? I am now at 468 blocks and I am a little worried I will not be able to gain what I have lost. I installed a few VC wads and used WAD...

Hacking top notch Wii backup media

From everything I have read it sounds like Taiyo Yuden DVD-R or Verbatim DVD-R are the way to go. If you get Verbatim, make sure they are made in Singapore. If you get Taiyo Yuden, make sure they are premium and TYG02 Media ID type that are made in Japan. Correct me if I'm mistaken on that...

    Hacking Wii System Update required?

My Wii has been softmodded. After installing the homebrew and backup channels the original Mario Kart disc worked fine. I went ahead and downgraded my Wii to 3.2u a few days ago and now when I insert the Mario Kart disc I get the message "Wii System Update Required" Is this OK to do it will it...

Hacking Dowgrading from 3.4u to 3.2u

I have decided to downgrade from my current 3.4u firmware to 3.2u. Before I do so, I just wanted to confirm the steps. Since I have the Homebrew and Backup Loader Channels installed, only a few steps are required. 1. Run IOS-Downgrader_v1.dol 2. Run AnyRegion_Changer1.1b.dol 3. Run...

    Hacking 3.4u softmodded Wii for use with IOS 38, 53, and 55 w/ rev8

Getting the blue screen #002 error. Alot of helpful people have pointed out to use IOS 38, 53, and 55 with cIOS 36 rev8. I just wanted to triple check this is safe for firmware 3.4u on a softmodded Wii. GeckOS 1.07b does not work for me as a few others suggested, perhaps that is only on...

Hacking Removing old .wad files before installing new ones?

I am in the works of trying to play Madworld. So far I'm pretty sure I need to install cIOS36_rev8 which I need rename boot.dol and place in a folder called "cIOS36_rev8_installer" and place that in a folder called "apps" in the root of the SD card? Also, I have been told I need to install 3...

Hacking MadWorld #002 error w/ blue screen

After extensive searching, I know this issue has already been addressed in numerous posts but I find some of the information is conflicting and I'm not 100% sure what all applies to me. When I installed the Homebrew Channel and Backup Loader channel I followed these steps. * Start the...

Hacking How to burn/test/play ISO backups

I finally got into the Wii modding scene. Although I am not a complete noob to modding and getting the most out of my electronics, the Wii is all new to me. The information is overwhelming as there seems to be more than one way to do things, depending on the desired goal. My Wii is running...

    Hacking SDFormatter V2.0 Guide?

Any chance somebody could throw up a quick SDFormatter V2.0 guide? I just used this program for the first time last night and was a little worried that I may have chose the wrong options if that is possible. I did find the manual and check it out, but I just want to make sure I dont mess...

Hacking Reader for A-data 4gb MicroSDHC Class 6

Hey Guys, After extensive research that I had done when I experienced problems using the M3 Real, I have come to the conclusion that part of the problem may be that I am using the reader sent with my M3 DS Real Perfect Bundle. From what I have read, it sounds like that method may cause...

Hacking GBA soft-reset not working on M3 DS Real Perfect

Hello Everyone, I have been enjoying my new product very much. Although I am still a complete noob, I have still been able to access a few of the features. The emulators seem to be giving me difficulty which I will need to read up on a little more. Right now I am stuck on a part of the GBA...

@Jayro, I don't see whats so special about the DS ML, its just a DS lite in a phat shell. At least the phat model had louder speakers, whereas the lite has a much better screen.

They probably said "Hey, why not we combine the two together and make a 'new' DS to sell".
  • Veho @ Veho:
It's a DS Lite in a slightly bigger DS Lite shell.

    It's not a Nintendo / iQue official product, it's a 3rd party custom.

Nothing special about it other than it's more comfortable than the Lite

@SylverReZ if you could find a v5 DS ML you would have the best of both worlds since the v5 units had the same backlight brightness levels as the DS Lite unlockable with flashme

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

anyways, we need to re-normalize physical media

if i didn't want my games to be permanent, then i'd rent them

  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.
  • AncientBoi @ AncientBoi:
    I don't pirate them, I Use Them :mellow:. Like I do @BigOnYa 's couch :tpi::evil::rofl2:

  • cearp @ cearp:
@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM
  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm
  • rqkaiju2 @ rqkaiju2:
i like physical media because it actually feels like you own it. thats why i plan on burning music to cds
  • cearp @ cearp:
It's nice to not have to have a lot of physical things though, saves space
