Hacking DSI Exception when attempting to run anything

This was a hacked Wii with 4.3U. The last thing I did was to install USB Loader GX and had it download all of the missing artwork. I had left, and when it was done, someone tried to run a game and it took a while, but the Wii eventually reset back to the system menu. Now loading any hacked...

Hacking Xbox 360 Limited Edition Kinect Star Wars Bundle

I have the Xbox 360 Limited Edition Kinect Star Wars Bundle. I'd like to install an Xkey based on DinohScene's recommendation. I haven't opened it up yet to check the drive, but I'm assuming it's either a new LiteOn or Hitachi since it came out this year. That means I can't get the drive's key...

Hacking Seagate GoFlex with USB 3.0 problems solved

I always had success with the Seagate FreeAgent Go drives on the Wii. Now Seagate has introduced a new line of drives called GoFlex. They have a proprietary connector that allows you to switch interfaces (USB 2.0, USB 3.0, FireWire, eSATA, etc.) by buying additional adapters. I bought the one...

Hacking List of games needing an IOS other than 57 with CIOS rev 19?

CIOS 19 with IOS 57 works great with just about every game I try. I believe the Rockband games need IOS 37. Monster Hunter Tri needs IOS 37, too. Spongebob's Boating Bash doesn't work with CIOS rev 19 with any IOS AFAIK. Is there a definitive list of games that won't work with CIOS rev 19?

    Hacking Science Papa is S-L-O-W

Anyone try Science Papa yet? It loads up very slow. I tried this with multiple loaders, but I get the same results. I'm wondering if anyone else has this issue.

    Hacking Auditing Wii artwork

Now that there are a number of sites sharing artwork for USB Loaders, there's going to be an issue with the sites keeping in sync with the new releases and/or fixes. For example, someone was kind enough to upload a missing disc image on my site. If someone had downloaded all the images from me...

Hacking Idea for Wii games that need a disc

Some people have broken drives in their Wiis. They can't use the USB Loader for a handful of games that require a disc in the Wii drive. Why can't someone with a USB Gecko create a "cheat" that disables the disc check? All the latest USB loaders have Ocarina support. In fact, the USB Loaders...

Hacking Having problems with games freezing?

There's a lack of systematic testing when problems arise. If you are experiencing lockups or freezes with your game, please follow these steps. The first thing you need to do is to cut down the number of variables: 1. Make sure Wiiconnect24 is off 2. Don't use LAN. Use Wireless. Make sure...

Hacking Hack guide for people with modchips?

I need to hack a friend's Wii. He's already got a modchip, so he can already play Wii backups, GC backups, region free, etc. I'd rather not install any hacks that he won't need. I read the SoftMii docs and they don't have a path for modchip users. Any general guidelines what I can skip? If...

Hacking Accidentally deleted a game from my hard drive

I accidentally deleted a game using one of the GUI's. Apparently, the person who coded it didn't think of adding a prompt as a precaution to make sure you really wanted to do it. I tried putting the game back on, but it appears to have affected another game. I suppose I'll need to redo the...

Hacking Proposed feature to verify games using wbfs tool

An important feature that could be added to the wbfs tool would be some kind of checksum to verify the ISO transfer. An MD5 of the transferred ISO could be used to eliminate any doubts that the transfer to the USB device was successful or not. The MD5 algorithm is well-defined and should be...

Hacking Tool to turn off Advanced Power Management Feature for non-USB hard dr

I ordered a Western Digital Passport Essentials USB hard drive for my Wii. I haven't received it yet, so I have no idea if its APM feature will cause me grief. Other hard drive manufacturers like Seagate and Maxtor have tools that allow you to disable the APM feature. I haven't found one for...
