Whenever I try to launch the FF VII NSP the screen goes black after selecting profile and shuts my switch off. Using SXOS 2.6.1, console firmware is 5.0.1, and installed it with the latest SX installer. Let me know if you have any ideas as to whats going wrong.
Thanks.
They were about 1-2 months into ipatching when I sent mine in and they didn't ipatch my unit during repair.
Sorry to hear that the service isn't as good for your country. I guess you really have to weigh your options (wait for them to repair it vs. roll the dice on repairing it yourself or...
If you don't care about your saved data... Call nintendo tell them you were playing in handheld mode while charging it with the "official" nintendo charger and that it said some message about the battery and then an error saying to restart the system. They will probably offer to repair your...
I believe my switch is fried from charging it... I can boot RCM but get an error code when I try to restore my NAND (because I believe that its fried).
My switch running RajNX gave a crash error while playing an NSP on fw 5.1 just after it sent me an error saying that my switch is no longer charging and when I try to boot back into RajNX it gets stuck at the nintendo logo. Any advice?
Thanks.
The gamecard slot does not work when running 5.1. I guess that means that the no gc is working. I switch firmwares to play nsp games that require a new firmware but switch back to 3.0 to play xci games and remove auto rcm so I don't have to worry about my battery dying if I take my switch on a trip.
I use Choidejour to go back and forth between the two firmware versions. My console has 3 burnt fuses so I can still boot with the nintendo booter into 3.0 and my cartridge slot still works all thanks to raj.
Looking forward to taking advantage of the auto firmware compatibility because I always need swap the files on my SD when I go from 3.0 to 5.02 and vice versa. I'm gonna try this out now. Thanks for taking the time to put this together!
Absolutely not sure or they absolutely don't use the no gc patch? XD
By the way, really appreciate all the great work you've done with all the switch tools. Using Choi was awesome and worked flawlessly.
You sure SX OS 1.4 doesn't use the no gc update patch? I upgraded my 3.0 to 4.1 with Choi then rebooted by accident straight into SX OS because I was using the dongle to run other payloads then I downgraded back to 3.0 and put my zelda cart in and it still worked...
FYI - If you update from below 4.0 to 4.0 or up and you use SX pro your cartridge slot firmware will be updated (irreversible which means when you downgrade to below 4.0 your slot wont work anymore). You currently cannot edit the SX CFW boot settings to include the kip that stops your cartridge...
Thanks for putting this guide together. Looks like I won’t be able to leave 3.0 just yet because I don’t want to give il cartridge emulation. It’s too bad I can’t just remove the gc update from the firmware.
So I guess if I want SXOS to stop the game cart controller from updating I need to update the sx os ini files to have the FS_XXX_nogc.kip1 line in it. Not sure if the SXOS ini files are accessible like the other CFWs. I am on firmware 3.0 and looking to jump to 4.1.
