If I remember correctly, only scene where you need voice is in case 5, but it is not credits rolling thing. Maybe you can get past that scene in emulator and then go back playing with flash card. Some emulators support multiple save formats, so it might work.
I tried to open 178 in script studio, since that has actual content used by game. And it opened without any problems. Could something have happened in process I made patch?
Maybe you should try open other big files. I really don't remember number, but case 5 has biggest file in whole game. It...
I really don't remember very well anymore. but you can't do that trick in all sections. For example if file is about investigations where you speak with multiple people from various subjects, you can't do that.
And what do you mean nuked? I think 342 and 351 are not used by game. 178 is quite...

The <orange>Little Mr. Thief<white>....

Yes, japanese one is originally Mr. Thief too.
Also, Edgeworth does similar thing in AAI1 too:
That gadget... Mr. Thief,
is it? That thing you call...
All you would need is get program called dslazy, and use it to unpack both english and japanese rom. Find kenji2_sound.sdat from japanese rom and replace it in english rom. And then repack english rom. Dslazy is quite simple program.
You can play without actual microphone, but atleast in desmume you can create hotkey for virtual microphone. You need it in one part very late in game.
When in doubt, try googling: https://www.google.fi/search?q=hh&oq=hh&aqs=chrome..69i57j0l2j69i59j0l2.1064j0j7&sourceid=chrome&es_sm=93&ie=UTF-8#q=desmume+nds4ios
Dst files have problems. You could try changing dsv to sav and try import backup memory with various settings. Or use dst, but save immediately and start from beginning of chapter.

As Link, you solve puzzles, defeat some bosses and unlock three gates to escape the dungeon. Feedback appreciated.
Agent Mario in Koopa Naval Base:
(9396-0000-0091-D869)
Mario must use his wit and gadgets to get through Koopa Naval Base to
reach Submarine Bill in this level which combines puzzling and action.
I wonder will anybody ever solve final puzzle of this level?
Mad Scientist's Experiments:
9A87-0000-007A-80B3
First you trick thwomp-boo and piranha monster. Then you ride rodeo with blaster-bowser-wiggler.
This is highly experimental short course. You haven't seen anything like it.
Dsvs are not save states. They are actual ingame saves which go to battery folder in your emulator folder.
In that case they must be renamed exactly same as rom name.
Or you can rename them to savs and use import backup memory in emulator.
Luigi's Revenge: F5DD-0000-0070-39BB

Mario in the Land of Giants:
72FA-0000-004B-62B6
This is perhaps one of my trickiest levels. It has some platforming with bit unstable platforms,
but also there is some exploring. It is possible to skip many of enemy encourters or run away.
And if you need to dispose enemy, item is usually...
