Hacking FAQ: What CFW is best for me?
I disagree with the characterization of Cakes as ArchLinux. ArchLinux is known for being unstable and breaking frequently. It's more like OpenBSD: it doesn't do anything fancy unless you run patches, but tends to be written extremely well and does things the "right way."- twocows

At this point, I'd take it into a local computer shop. Don't go to Best Buy or a big name store, they'll rip you off. Look for local PC repair shops with decent online reviews.- twocows

Reset the BIOS again by removing the CMOS battery. Go back into the BIOS before doing anything else, change the boot order so that USB devices boot first. Wipe your hard drive completely. Use fdisk or whatever relevant tool needed to reinitialize the drive. Don't attempt to boot into the drive...- twocows

For security purposes, use Adblock Plus, uBlock Origin, or equivalent. Use decent adblocking filters (EasyList, EasyPrivacy, Fanboy's Annoyances, Disable Malware, etc). 10.6 is out, according to reports it's unsupported with Cakes stable. I would advise against updating emunand until more info is available. Haven't noticed a difference in bootrate, it still fails occasionally on me and without the yellow screen, the hang isn't immediately noticeable. You're unlikely to brick yourself by updating the nver title, it's literally just an eight byte file with some version information in it. But yes, best practice is not to mix and match different version system titles, as some combinations will brick you.- twocows
