ROM Hack Question Editing ELF files

you'd have a better time with infinite ink using romfs param edits if you don't know how to disassemble/modify the exefs.

ROM Hack WIP SplatHeX A Splatoon Save Editor

i mean sure, i could've been less of a dick. it just amused me tbh. also, "this guy got banned using this tool" doesn't quite sound like "this guy got banned for doing something stupid with this tool", but that's another topic.

ROM Hack WIP SplatHeX A Splatoon Save Editor

nice twitter tag. also, we have no idea what this guy actually did. in his thread he says he edited all chunks to be 999 and snails to be 300, which is pretty impossible to do without save editing at the moment and not smart at all on his part. if you use the tool in a way that isn't dumb, you...

ROM Hack WIP SplatHeX A Splatoon Save Editor

you can use hekate to launch the switch hbl and checkpoint/nuts to dump/inject your save. there are some guides for entering rcm and injecting the payload.

weapon parameters are in the rom itself. the save only handles gear, weapon stats (turf inked, freshness level), single player stats, flags, etc. typical save stuff. there's no way to give yourself an unfair advantage in splatoon 2, or most multiplayer games, for that matter, by editing your save.

that's not how gear editing works.

ROM Hack WIP SplatHeX A Splatoon Save Editor

considering the save is encrypted, the binary probably has the decryption method and key baked into it, and the developers probably don't want people to edit their rank/mmr. i'd say most likely not, but i can't speak for them.

Hacking Question Is there a Tool to Dump your own Games?

atmosphere isn't released yet, but hekate's nand dump works just fine. you do need your console unique bis keys to decrypt the user partition. after you obtain the rsa kek and titlekey for the game you're trying to decrypt/unpack, sciresm's hactool works. there's actually a pretty good writeup...

ROM Hack WIP SplatHeX A Splatoon Save Editor

@SimonMKWii take notes tbh. this guy's approach is much better than "here's a png of a rat embedded in the program(?) and an image of some java i found in a hex editor once". dunno if you're trying to say that's in the program itself, but i certainly haven't found any sort of java from the ram...

ROM Hack WIP SplatHeX A Splatoon Save Editor

honestly it's not worth my time to check for myself, especially if you're the one producing "evidence" that consists of about 20 pixels of a rat icon and a string of java code in image format. i'll keep using this tool, thanks

ROM Hack WIP SplatHeX A Splatoon Save Editor

it's fairly obvious you're just grasping at straws rn, and given your track record you're not exactly a reliable source i think they're probably referring to your comment in his hacdn thread, but i'm not entirely certain

@SimonMKWii please stop talking, you look so foolish right now or don't, it's funny to watch you do this to yourself

Not sure if anyone else is having this issue with the newest version, but it's preventing the program from running at all.

Hacking RELEASE HACDN - Download game NCA files directly from Nintendo's CDN!

Maybe this thread should be closed. I get that lots of homebrew runs the risk of being unsafe, but this is pretty ridiculous.

ROM Hack The Splatoon 2 updated save is encrypted

Why? Is it not more convenient to do it that way? Especially considering the decryption method probably isn't publicly available, at least from what i've seen.

ROM Hack The Splatoon 2 updated save is encrypted

Even better, make a ram editing homebrew tool that removes the need to decrypt/calculate any checksum.

Hacking [RCM] hekate-ipl for 5.0.x + working hb menu

you could just solder a wire between the test pins on the joycon mainboard like i did. super easy, as shown in this pic although if you're not using a micro switch or something to ground the joycons only when you wanna enter rcm mode, the joycon only works in wireless mode.

Tutorial How to boot Linux on your Switch

I've finally finished the tutorial. Does it take a few tries to actually boot into something usable? Last time I got as far as "crng init done", and this time i got to "SOC threshold INTR".

i used to go out to the recycling center every couple weeks and look at the crts and other electronics people would drop off. Usually screens were broken or severely scratched from being tossed around. Did find a good one here and there, but never anything like a 1080i widescreen crt.

Is it piracy if it was released for free? Not in my opinion, but I also think it's not piracy if buying it isn't owning it, and it's not piracy if you can't buy it from the original creators anymore.
