I'm currently in the process of migrating to Tiramisu and noticed that your uninstall instructions are incomplete. To fully remove the FST patch you have to uninstall Wii U Chat (= delete /code, /content and /meta folder). Then reinstall the Wii U Chat with NUSspli.
More info on how the...
Not sure about that. When I set "Don't relaunch OS" to [ON], the Wii U will freeze when I launch Homebrew Launcher Channel 2.1 fix by GaryOderNichts. Therefore I set it to [OFF]. Or maybe you just missed the "don't" in your instructions and we mean the same thing ;)
Does not work for me. When loading Wii U Chat it gives me the message:
And the new installer also didn't launch. I replaced the files manually with WiiUFtpServer v6.2 by Laf111.
I have an older Wii U formatted USB drive which content I'm trying to dump, but couldn't succeed. Also the Wii U – where this drive was formated – doesn't recognize it. Could this be because the Wii U system was factory reseted in the meantime? Does that affect USB storage encryption?
I compared them in a Hex editor and found differences on offset 0x018 and 0x019. I then cross-referenced my findings with the SEEPROM article. It's the SEEPROM RNG seed.
Quote from wiiubrew.org:
That explains the checksum differences from each seeprom.bin dump. In the end it is indeed...
Is it expected behaviour that "seeprom.bin" is different after each dump when I compare (SHA1) checksums? Souldn't a dump from read-only memory not always be the same?
I also had a checksum error with "fw.img". I fixed it by re-installing OSv10 (00050010-1000400A) where the version corresponds to the firmware. For example OSv10 v17502 for firmware 5.5.2. To install system application titles use WUP Installer GX2 mod.
"scfm.img" is a temporary file and has no...
I got the Internet Browser working again by re-installing it with WUP Installer GX2 mod. I used Bluubomb by GaryOderNichts to load Homebrew Launcher RPX v2.1 by dimok. Not sure about the firmware updater application but that's something I don't care (right now) :D
Probably nothing and it's the NAND that has gone bad. When I load the Internet Browser the system tries to load a TGA file (which contains the Nintendo logo) but fails to do so. See the attached IOSU crash log for details.
My idea was to create a NAND (MLC) dump, decrypt it, fix the broken...
Is it compatible with Bluubomb by @GaryOderNichts ? For now loading your Nand dumper application via HBL gets me stuck in the "Wii U Menu" loading screen (after a shortly appearing pink screen). My Wii U is on firmware 5.5.2 and due to a soft-brick I can't launch the Internet Browser or perform...
I finally found time to further investigate the issue. According to the crash log files in "storage_slc/logs" it's most likely the MLC that has gone bad. The Wii U tries to read a Internet Browser related file but fails and gives a fatal error. Replacing or deleting this file does not work. This...
Thanks for the suggestion. I used Mocha which requires a working web browser. Since the browser refuses to start I can't access Homebrew Launcher to run FTPiiU.
I guess the fixing process would somehow look like this?
1. hardmod MLC dump
2. decrypt with OTP.bin
3. ???
4. encrypt with OPT.bin
5. flash modified MLC
I don't know. It's been too long. I now tried "Delete All Content and Settings" but the browser or system update still doesn't work after Wii U setup. From my nand backup I could only find otp.bin and seeprom.bin.
mlc.full.img, slc.full.img and slccmpt.full.img are missing.
I think it's gone :/
Hi,
after years I digged out my 5.5.2 Wii U and when I launch the web browser the error "160-1710" occurs. After some research I'd like to try updating the firmware, but not to the latest version 5.5.5 to have some headroom. Are there games that contain firmware 5.5.3 or 5.5.4 for an offline...
No, that's not the case. I have a Wii U which came with Mario Kart 8 preinstalled. The console has never been connected with a NNID though the console ID at 0x1D8 isn't nulled.
I may try the new ram site, and download more RAM to my Switch. Not sure if ddr3 is the right ram
for it tho. Edit- no it uses floppy Ram, just like @AncientBoi
