    Is there any reason to extract archives? i.e. performance or is it just personal preference? I realize there is an extra step when loading an archived rom. Also, my 3ds always crashes when I try to scan a directory to make a collection. Is there a known workaround for this?

    Yep, that's what I have now. I'm currently on ME-1.1 and can't run SNES9xTYL for some reason, and I'm trying to find a solution for that. I was wondering if it would be worth it for me to install 6.60 Pro instead.

    Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.

    @BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM

    You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    i like physical media because it actually feels like you own it. thats why i plan on burning music to cds
