    Will the system be able to detect if you have luma installed, if you go online and activate the menu? What if you only have B9S installed, and have copied the native_firm and renamed it as boot.firm?

    I think newer payloads don't have this problem. I'd say to get Luma through seedminer but 11.8 screwed everything up. For now, just try downloading a newer boot.3dsx file from smealum's github. auto Or you could try Anemone.

    This kind of sucks, I have a bunch of game carts dumped an I don't like carrying them all around. And I actually use the wifi on my 3ds often.

    So there are no wires that you installed that are still there? auto If you're getting I/O errors, then you probably fried your nand. Looks like your only solution is EMUnand Which should be fine, as you already have a nand backup. You would probably need ntrboot to attempt to install b9s, but...

    Im actually pretty close to retiring my 3ds from regular usage. Ill keep it, and play it occasionally, but once I get another switch for hax + emulataors Ill be pretty much done with it. The one game I have not finished is zelda tri force heroes, and I got bored trying to beat the last level...

    Ok, when I try to load my roms, i am either stuck with a black screen on the top and a white screen on the bottom, or on the bottom screen a guru meditation error, which also displays what each register currently holds. I cant set Mario Kart as a donor, as it just gives me the Guru meditation...

    Oh thanks! My card is supported, and I am almost done setting this up (Getting some "Guru Meditation Error" for some games, while some just have a bottom screen stuck at white and top stuck at black.

    Is the 3ds still hooked up to your computer (or anything that is not itself)? Because that will prevent it from booting

    Your system data is already damaged. It wouldn't matter if it failed, as the system would still be in the same state as it is now.

    Technically, you can keep your games on the homescreen. However I don't recommend using the CTRTransfer until you know that your nand backup does not work.

    Wait, restoring a nand backup would probably be better than a CTRTransfer, as all the stuff on the home menu would still be there after the restore. From your explanation, it sounds like the firmware was damaged. Try the update, then try restoring the NAND backup.
