Oh ok i would test the smd components around that area but i suspect that those caps maybe causing it. Seems like the caps provide the power to the main chips since they’re right next to it. I highly doubt it’s the power supply or some power inductor/voltage regulators, even the cermaic smd...
I recommend looking into those Syscon codes. And as for the caps i recommend getting a hold of the Tantalizer boards from Oshpark, populating them and replacing those non working Nec Caps.
This looks awesome, finally there is a way to boot into Swiss without the CD. I was wondering if this will work alongside the Xeno GC? As i already have it installed. Also look forward to the M.2 SSD Adaptor and the ribbon.
Yes it’s easy to install them the wrong way. I remember i made a similar mistake on my GBA where it wouldn’t power on after doing the cap mod. Found out it was installed wrong and then it started to work when i corrected it. Even with my PS3, one of the caps wasn’t soldered on properly and some...
Oh wow, never dealed with that but i did once found a dead WoodLice in an Xbox. Btw if your triggers are clicking, it’s a probably a bad spring but i highly recommend replacing the old battery in these pads some of them barely hold charge these days.
I restored this SixAxis but in the pics...
Never use fake capacitors, always spend the extra. You can buy them from sites like Mouser and Digikey. I recommend buying all 32 caps, since you have to pay more for postage but you’ll receive it more quickly.
Same can be said about PS4 controllers and probably even PS5 controllers. But i have since gotten used to repairing many of them. You eventually figure out how to put the spring and the trigger back on, along with the back shell. But yeah it’s not a pop on and pop off experience.
See if the schematics can be found for the PS3 or measure the caps on nearby on the motherboard with an ESR meter but will need to remove the cap to measure it, another way is to see if you can find a bad motherboard and take the cap off there. Good luck.
Great to have this, the originals are overpriced and it's nice to own a physical all-in-one copy. One of the games has a blue glow around the character, and this was used to be able to see the character better on non lit GBA's. It would be nice to be able to have that blue glow removed.
After doing some further research into comparing the Noctua to the original Nidec fan. The original fan has an airflow rating of 20CFM and it's a 7v fan. The A6 has an airflow rating of 29.2cfm. A big improvement in airflow over the original. The downside is that it's a 12v fan don't know if the...
Yes as you can see in the guide, i delidded it with fresh new paste. But it still kind of runs hot. I will be switching to the performance ones like Thermal Grizzly or Thermal Right also will replace the thermal pads from those brands and will post the difference in temps here. MX4 isn’t good...
It needs a delid. There are delid services out there but i don’t think trying to do all that on an 80gb is worth the effort. I would look for an already delided 60gb unit if i were you.
Wow great job looks clean better than my install. Yes you have to replace them all. As for the small component, without a Schematic. You will have test that component with a MultiMeter. If it’s black it’s a resistor, test the resistance. If it’s brown, it’s a capacitor will need to be tested...
You have to replace the Start and Select ribbon order replacements online such as from Ali Express. To remove, you must detach the ribbon from the motherboard and take the Start Select buttons/sticker off from the front.
Here is an example of how it’s done.

I personally handled a call from the second highest person at Raytheon. That call bothered me a lot... The guy was nice and smart what bothered me was the way management basically just blew him off instead of going the extra mile to help him.
In the end that call ended up costing Dell millions in lost contracts with Raytheon, and really the issue could have been solved for like 450 bucks lol
I always thought that capcom shuffled the games in these collection, but apparently they are all in chronological order, which makes legacy collection 2 worthless
