ROM Hack Mario & Luigi: Can I apply the superstar saga (Cartridge Rumble Patch) to Korean ROM?

MD5 mismatch is not necessarily problem in this case. You can try patching the rom anyway using Lunar IPS for example. If you share the Korean translation patch I can check for potential conflicts. Do note that sharing the full rom is not allowed. If you don't have the patch file or link to the...

ROM Hack Wario Land 4: Jungle Rumble! hack by djedditt

Since I've been receiving quite a few messages regarding the Analogue Pocket, let me share my response here as well. Analogue Pocket + DS rumble pak not working with "Wario Land 4: Jungle Rumble!" is not an issue with the patch, but rather with the openFPGA-GBA core. However, you can apply this...

Rumble stops working in M&L Superstar Saga

Wario Land 4 is high on my to-do list as it's one of my favourite games! About a how-to guide, it depends. EZ-Flash did share a rudimentary guide to add rumble pulses. Part of that guide is incorrect however, which I pointed out here when someone ran into trouble using that approach. There's...

Rumble stops working in M&L Superstar Saga

Yes, sounds like a great idea! Never thought of that. Correct, it would be up to the patch author to decide where and for how long to inject rumble. I'd say that's more of a creative challenge than a technical one 😄

Rumble stops working in M&L Superstar Saga

My pleasure! I created similar patches for Super Mario Advance 4: Super Mario Bros. 3. and Pokémon Pinball: Ruby & Sapphire in case you're interested.

Rumble stops working in M&L Superstar Saga

Yes unfortunately attacks in battle are not associated with rumble. All rumble using this patch however is identical to the behaviour you'd see on a Game Boy Player/GameCube. The main purpose of the patch was to add support for the original rumble behaviour but on cartridge. I might do a...

Rumble stops working in M&L Superstar Saga

That sounds odd, can you share the save file with me? I'll see if I can debug it (I wrote the cartridge rumble patch for ML:SS). Edit: Can you also specify which version of the ROM and patch you used?

Tileset and tilemap creator for gba homebrew

You can use Tiled in combination with my GBA export plugins and Grit or Usenti for GBA development. Tiled can export to png, and Grit/Usenti allows conversion to source data (automate that into your build script for example). My custom export plugins export the tilemap data from Tiled to formats...

[Release] Pokemon Pinball Ruby & Sapphire EZ Flash Omega DE Rumble Patch

A proper way to do it in this context would be to push the link register onto the stack at the start of the function, immediately execute your subroutine, and then at the end of the function pop the link register off the stack and put it in the program counter. You can use push {lr} and pop {pc}...

Hacking Gamecube GBA rumble games (and rom hacked rumble)

Drill Dozer and WarioWare: Twisted! both use a flat coin rumble motor, and they are nowhere near as loud and fast as the ODE. Maybe a firmware update for the ODE could change it, maybe it can't. Might be hardware. Here's an audio comparison of insideGadgets' rumble vs. EZ-FLASH's ODE rumble...

Hacking Gamecube GBA rumble games (and rom hacked rumble)

EZ-FLASH Omega Definitive Edition's rumble is too fast, loud and high-pitched. It seems like it draws too much power - with sustained rumble events you can hear it scream and then as power drops it goes down in pitch. I've been thinking of modding it to limit the current, it is that obnoxious...

[Release] Pokemon Pinball Ruby & Sapphire EZ Flash Omega DE Rumble Patch

Phrankles, in your other post you wrote; I checked and it does matter - it all comes down to your subroutine not being nested correctly and that messes up your link register, resulting in the infinite loop. The approach you took to circumvent that is not the right one, and essential...

[Release] Pokemon Pinball Ruby & Sapphire EZ Flash Omega DE Rumble Patch

I'm the author of the Mario & Luigi and Super Mario Advance 4 rumble patches, and released my Pokémon Pinball: Ruby and Sapphire rumble patch yesterday. Maybe that one works for you? It has a functional rumble options menu, as well as more accurate rumble events. Let me know! I just confirmed...

Hacking Gamecube GBA rumble games (and rom hacked rumble)

My own Pokémon Pinball: Ruby & Sapphire cartridge rumble patch just went live; https://www.romhacking.net/hacks/6256/ Few details: - Patches for both the European and USA version (Japan coming soon) - Functional rumble options menu - Uses original Game Boy Player rumble events and...

Any interest in flashcart rumble hack for Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past (GBA)

I would recommend getting a rumble flash cartridge from insideGadgets as well for testing compatibility. Their cartridges and flasher are quite popular and was the first to add a rumble motor. If the implementation of rumble code is done correctly, it should work on all rumble cartridges (given...

ROM Hack Help hacking rumble of Omega DE into Pokemon Pinball Ruby & Sapphire (Potential Bounty)

Calculating the jump offset has been giving you hell, because the calculation provided by EZ-Flash for encoding the offset in the bl instruction is wrong. The low part calculation example says (0x34583C&0xFFF)/2, but that should be (0x34583C/2)&0xFFF = 0xC1E. Even with that fixed, the...

Hacking Gamecube GBA rumble games (and rom hacked rumble)

Finally managed to squeeze in some time! Just submitted the SMA4 cartridge rumble patch to Romhacking.net for both the European and USA version. There aren't a lot of official rumble events; on death, when thwomps hit the ground, etc. Either way, enjoy! Download here...

Hacking Gamecube GBA rumble games (and rom hacked rumble)

It depends, Drill Dozer's rumble starts subtle and gets more intense as you switch gears. It's a fair point though, I wasn't too fond of the high frequency brrr! Played around a bit more and created a "rumble pattern" that feels pretty authentic compared to what the actual Game Cube controller...

Hacking Gamecube GBA rumble games (and rom hacked rumble)

You're welcome! Was fun to figure out. Now working on Super Mario Advance 4, maybe I'll do Pokémon Pinball eventually. It's something I work on in my spare time and only when I feel like it, so don't expect anything soon.

Hacking Gamecube GBA rumble games (and rom hacked rumble)

I just submitted a patch for Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga to ROMhacking.net that unlocks the rumble feature on GBA and adds cartridge rumble, see https://www.romhacking.net/hacks/6065. Enjoy. Ended up not forcing the Game Boy Player detected flag because it would load the limited RGB palettes...
