Hacking NTSC VC wads on a PAL wii

Ah gotcha, yeah I use CRTs for all the consoles that don't support HD (with the exception of the PS3 for playing PS1). I do own a CRT with an HDMI input and it's max 720p and 1080i, but I also have not found a nice trinitron with component though. I'm always on the lookout though. Thanks for the...

Hacking NTSC VC wads on a PAL wii

Using a SCART cable on the Wii allows for NTSC signals, only properly (speed and colour) when tuning the tv to simple AV, when tuning the TV to RGB it gets a red tint all over the screen, but the correct speed (when the console is set to NTSC video output). Consistent with the fact that RGB is...

Hacking NTSC VC wads on a PAL wii

I'm not sure how to explain RGB to you without an RGB SCART cable diagram but just a short rundown: everything depends on the video output mode. A PAL60 (480i60hz) output supports RGB over the same cable as composite (the SCART cable). Only in PAL60 does the Wii output RGB. When set to NTSC 60hz...

Hacking NTSC VC wads on a PAL wii

I can, using S-video at 60hz. It's true that SCART can display NTSC video, but only via composite NOT RGB. I have looked at the specs of the video out for NTSC and RGB simply is not supported. Only the PAL output uses the leads used for RGB, the NTSC model uses those same leads for S-video. So...

Hacking NTSC VC wads on a PAL wii

Small update here, CoolMe thanks for the suggestions on updating and installing cIOS etc... I found out after much cables testing (RGB Scart, S-video, composite, component), that NTSC video output simply does not support RGB which is a shame because that is the highest quality analog signal...

Hacking NTSC VC wads on a PAL wii

I'm trying to play a VC wad (namely Majora's Mask NTSC). I'm running them after installing them on the Wii (using multi-mod-manager) via USB loader GX. So no drives are involved here. I will edit this post later with a syscheck or post it in a moment.

Hacking NTSC VC wads on a PAL wii

Could you tell me exactly how you got that to work? I'm trying to run that exact game MM NTSC, tried patching it with @stev418 forceNTSC_loader and _wwpacker.loader but the audio is still garbled and it runs at 50hz. Edit: I'm running it through a RGB SCART cable, if that makes any difference...

    Hacking Loadiine GX2

That's a shame to hear, and thanks for the quick reply! The game screen getting smaller and smaller is one of my favourite graphical effect of all time so I wanted to at least fix that but it seems unlikely.

    Hacking Loadiine GX2

Hello everyone, not sure if this is the right place but it does have to do with this app. When playing a virtual console game via Loadiine (Majora's Mask) it works perfectly fine, but sometimes the image goes black on the tv but stays on on the gamepad. At other times both the image on the pad...
