I, unfortunately, own a Japanese Wii U in the USA. Wii Party U will load with Spiik but Mii data does not load.

Yes, the US Version did that. so don't bother with it. You need to use the JPN version, change the language pack and some graphics in the menu. and you are good to go. https://gbatemp.net/threads/tutorial-for-those-unlucky-to-own-a-japanese-wii-u-how-to-play-in-english-problematic-games.572494/

Oh that's surprising, I can play it well with frameskipping set on 2. But using your settings, it frequently went as low as 17fps. My copy is US version though, emulating on JPN Wii U. not sure if it makes any difference. We both are using the next build correct? hmm that's weird. Just for...

I tested it on the next build, playable? yes, but not full speed. As stated in the compatibility chart, the game crashes on stage 3 using older build. However, I couldn't confirm whether that is still the case with the latest build.

I think by inserting the frameskip value and keeping the auto-frameskipping box checked, the emulator would skip frame whenever necessary up to that value. So getting back to you, i think rather than it being minimal value, its more like maximum value of frame the emulator is allowed to skip...

TLDR: all these annoying games would require you to swap the japanese language file to english, this way the system would still run the jp region game, but the ingame menu would be in english. just hit me up if you have further question. selamat mencuba! :D
