You misunderstood. I was suggesting how you could make your hack better for the novice user. And you could make it work for users that don't own an EverSD. Everything could be done via either a custom firmware or the 1.2.0 firmware with ADB (or could add ADB to recent firmware). All this only...
Which site? I only have the GitHub repository with my kernel patches to support Evercade [1]. That's the kernel used by EverSD to support USB devices as far as I know. I did manage to compile the whole alternate firmware but couldn't get it to boot yet, and then got distracted with other...
Then make your "hack" better for the average user instead of a wall of text, instructional videos and voice prompts. I didn't criticize your potential user. I sent a suggestion to you. But obviously you can't take any feedback.
Why do you need EverSD for this? You can write to the Namco cart directly via either ADB or by adding a script into the rootfs (just extract everpatcher executable and add it there).
esmith13, there are some GUIs for ADB file transfer, but you're right that ADB still needs to be enabled and it's likely not straight forward for many. I didn't mean to appear elitist, just wanted to say that it's pretty straight forward technically.
Why do you need a break out board to read or write official cartridges? You can just do it via ADB using the Evercade itself as a reader/writer :rofl2:
For adb mode, you also need to use 1.2.0 firmware or put the adb binary and related things into the rootfs as they removed it in later firmwares. The cable you have should be fine as it already worked for you for flashing.
For host mode, on the other hand, you would need a special cable or an...
Hello, I am RetroFailz and I do random hardware hacking. Currently I am working on firmware replacement for Evercade console. Thanks for having me here!
I started a firmware replacement for Evercade based on a similar system that had source code available.
Currently I have gotten the kernel to work basically the same as the original kernel. I haven't tested any other stuff such as Retroarch.
Code with my patches is on GitHub...
