    I think the only "solution" would be to convert your current rom (or download another one) with a different file extension. It can be with wbfs, iso, nkit.iso, it doesn't really matter. I've just converted my current MKWii wbfs rom to iso and it went well :) (i got the tool from here...

    So the only way we can play online is by having the legit disk and then changing the connection dns or using that wiimmfi patcher utility for the homebrew launcher (wii)? I despite buying second hand products let alone used game disks from decades ago

    yes it resets after rebooting, is there someway to KEEP at paused forever? this would be a bless to every homebrewed wii u user like me
