    ps5 power regulator ssd

If you remove the ssd controller and the the short to ground is gone then it's the ssd controller causing the short no? What is the resistance to ground with the ssd controller installed?

PS5 USB not enabled and no synch

I heard that this maybe a sb issue since the sb logs in the synced controllers.

Help with missing component (PS5 EDM-020)

0201 100nf anything over 5v. I have not seen those capacitors going faulty.

Error SU-101265-5 "The update file is corrupted", no UART error

I doubt you have any shorts on the board since it boots. Have you tried another usb stick? Bad memory can cause this issue.

EDM 033 - Beep, no power, standby boot sequence bit low

Did you thoroughly clean out the flux and ipa from under the SB? Usually when it hangs after installing a known good working SB it was the flux and ipa under the SB (on the solder balls) that's messing with the crystal oscillator causing it to hang. I would heat up the sb area then flush ipa...

Is it ce-108255-1? If so I would return it for another one.

    ps5 shutdown on game execution

I had one that had the same error crash code whenever in game for 5 min or so. Uart doesn't show any errors from game crashes for this. Unfortunately I haven't been able to fix these, seems like apu / ram / on board ssd related.

ps5 edm-010 blue light + beep but missing 1.8v and 3.3v standby voltages at hdmi IC

You have a general power failure somewhere, could also be ram. These are hard to fix if you don't find any obvious shorts.

PS5 Digital - Missing voltage on HDMI circuit

But did you get a blue light when you tried to power on when your board was faulty?

ps5 edm-010 blue light + beep but missing 1.8v and 3.3v standby voltages at hdmi IC

Sounds good. Do you get blue light when hitting power?

Check initialization current when applying 12v.

PS5 Digital - Missing voltage on HDMI circuit

The posted picture is very misleading when you have a 2 sec power on then power off. When you have a 2 second power on then off the southbridge goes into panic mode and doesn't re-enable those standby voltages on the hdmi circuit. It doesn't always mean (usually its not the hdmi circuit) you...

    Hardware PS5 no video output

Your 5v current limiter IC is blown. You need to replace it with a TPS2553DDBVR. This IC regulates 5v on pin 18. You may have a chip with diff marking because sony just sources the cheapest IC available, but you can change it with a new TPS2553DDBVR. It's readily available on digikey. If you're...

    Hardware PS5 no video output

The 100nf capacitor looks askew, take meter and get diode readings on all 19 pins, red probe on ground and let me know what your readings are. Also have you check all the pins are solidly connected by trying to move them with tweezers? Lastly try looking inside the new port, if there is flux...

    Hardware PS5 no video output

Did you get the hdmi port swapped by a shop? If so take it back there. Sounds like not a great connection on the port to board.

Playstation 5 Disc Edition EDM-020 Not Booting

These are difficult to solve because no obvious short. You'll need to swap components to figure out what's wrong unless you find some resistance readings that are off compared to a good board. A guess would be ram.

Playstation 5 Digital Edition EDM-010 Component Blown

A short on those DRMOS chips that signifcant is highly probable that the apu is shorted dead also. This is the main power feed line to the apu.

    LAN port not working

Replace the resistors and check if cap is shorted to ground. Check also on other side of the magnetics module whether any of those pins are shorted to ground

I hate ordering stuff online if I can go buy it somewhere close to me, and everywhere anymore will give you a discount only if you order it online, bs. Should be a discount if I go pick it up, not order online.

  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Mostly for big purchases, I want it in my hands before I pay. Like a tv, I trust picking it up myself, before I'd trust it being sent thru mail/delivery. (Broken screen, etc) But yea if I can order online, then pickup at store is ok, but not all places offer that.

    > Like a tv, I trust picking it up myself, before I'd trust it being sent thru mail/delivery. (Broken screen, etc)

Thing is, if you break it driving back to your house, it's your fault. But if the delivery driver damages it, it's not your fault.

Most people that haul big tvs have empty trucks or know enough not to set it face down
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Then I gotta send it back and wait another week or two. I have a pickup truck, with a extended cab, so no prob for me.
