3DS Dragon Quest VIII Save Editor

Hi folks. Sorry I haven't checked this thread in a while, I've been quite busy. @zaiaku666: You're right, that isn't great and I didn't think of it when I made the editor (items don't appear in the collected list). This is something that can be fixed in a later version, but I'm busy at the...

3DS Dragon Quest VIII Save Editor

Yes you can :) To do so, do the following: 1. Make a new save file on your EU 3DS. 2. Copy this save file to your computer and load it with the save editor. 3. Make a note of the 'Device ID'. 4. Load your US save file. Paste the 'Device ID' you copied earlier and hit save. 5. Copy this edited...

3DS Dragon Quest VIII Save Editor

No worries. One possible solution is for you to use an application similar to CheatEngine for Android. I'm not sure what's available however, and be careful you don't end up downloading malware. You could potentially modify your save in an emulator if you wanted to play it safe, but it seems...

3DS Dragon Quest VIII Save Editor

Thanks for uploading the save game. I had a look at it and unfortunately the save formats are drastically different (they're not remotely compatible). Which would mean essentially starting from scratch with regards to figuring out how the data's organised. I don't mind doing that, but...

3DS Dragon Quest VIII Save Editor

Actually I wasn't aware the game existed on mobile until you mentioned it. If you like you can upload a copy of your save game here and I'll take a look at it. At the very least, it'll give me an idea of how much work may be involved.

    Is there?

I do have access to the entire SD card using the SMB1.0 / in-built SD card management method. Here is the guide I followed: I do appreciate what you're saying about SMB1.0 in general though. I've also read it has security issues.

    Is there?

I think it's okay if you're just using it to access your 3DS' SD card.

    Is there?

Sure, but it takes like 2 minutes to install it.

    Is there?

I'm on a N3DSXL / Windows 10 and micro SD management works for me every time. Perhaps it's just your settings or something?

    3DS Disaster...

You can access the SD card wirelessly using the 3DS built-in SD card management system and Windows. There are several guides. FBI will also let you manage files on the 3DS directly if you don't need to copy anything on or off the device. EDIT: Nevermind, didn't see replies.

3DS Dragon Quest VIII Save Editor

Since it's unlikely the editor will be used, here's all you need to know to modify the inventory manually. Device ID offset: 205,892 Slot size: 68,624 Inventory offset: 2,788 The file you're looking for is called honeySave.bin. You'll need a HEX editor, there are several free ones out there...

3DS Dragon Quest VIII Save Editor

Unfortunately, short of getting the file digitally signed, I don't know what I can do to fix this "virus" situation. I'm pretty sure it's detecting it as a virus because the program isn't digitally signed and it naturally has the ability/code which allows the opening and modification of a file...

3DS Dragon Quest VIII Save Editor

I assure you, there's no virus in it. I downloaded the file again and did a binary comparison with the one I compiled on my computer and they're an exact match, so I can guarantee it's a false positive. I've also virus scanned it and found nothing. I understand your concern though. What can I...

3DS Dragon Quest VIII Save Editor

Again, apologies for the late reply, been busy. Just released version 1.0.0 (see the opening post). Beware that certain things can crash the game (for example, deactivating all the characters). I haven't tested it extensively so please let me know if you find any problems. I may add additional...

3DS Dragon Quest VIII Save Editor

Ah thank you. Sorry for the late update (life and stuff). Anyway, I've just turned my attention back to this little project and finished composing the entire list of items (man it took forever). Luckily for you mgpachec, it includes flags for DLC exclusive items. Other flags include item...

3DS Dragon Quest VIII Save Editor

Figured it out, got it to work with Citra and a real 3DS. Just writing out all the item descriptions / IDs now for the inventory editor, which is taking a while.

3DS Dragon Quest VIII Save Editor

Hi folks, I'm wondering if there's interest in a Dragon Quest VIII save editor? I'm considering making one, but just want to know if it's of any use to anyone and what features people might want. EDIT: The save editor is now available. Features: - Modify device ID - Edit all 3 save slots -...

When I worked for Dell we had access to data about military contracts and addresses for high ranking people.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I personally handled a call from the second highest person at Raytheon. That call bothered me a lot... The guy was nice and smart what bothered me was the way management basically just blew him off instead of going the extra mile to help him.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
In the end that call ended up costing Dell millions in lost contracts with Raytheon, and really the issue could have been solved for like 450 bucks lol

sometimes I wonder why anyone would ever buy mega man x legacy collection 2
  • NinStar @ NinStar:
I always thought that capcom shuffled the games in these collection, but apparently they are all in chronological order, which makes legacy collection 2 worthless
