Hacking Hardware Picofly - a HWFLY switch modchip

Wow, i never really thought about it but i think you are right, the joycon vibration could actually play a big role on displacing dat0. After all, Nikola Tesla almost knocked down an entire building using a small vibrating machine.

Hacking Hardware Picofly - a HWFLY switch modchip

Did this a couple of times on the first Oled I moded (for a friend) but after a while it did not work anymore so I changed the dat0 adapter and still works to this day (while taking a beating constantly from his 2 kids). Now, after some experience with these consoles, I think this is not a wise...

Hacking Hardware Picofly - a HWFLY switch modchip

Well, we've been through this a couple of times and in the end it's more of a personal choice than exact science. We don't have an exact way of knowing how this connection will behave in the future (too many adapter and emmc models) so we mostly go by trial and error. Seeing as the guy who asked...

This one is better. I would trim it a little bit just to be safe.

Hacking Hardware Picofly - a HWFLY switch modchip

I wouldn’t risk it since the connection looks quite bad, even if it works it's guaranteed you will have problems in the future. Better order another one (or do a reball if you can). And if you choose to use it don't cut at red line, it will only make things worse since you will lose one anchor...

Hacking Hardware Picofly - a HWFLY switch modchip

Well it makes more sense if the resistor is burnt, usually we get "slow emmc" when resistance is low, that's why we started using 100ohm instead of 47ohm which was used originally and if yours is damaged you might be getting 0ohms. Both rp2040 and rp2040-tiny work great (tiny fits better and no...

Hacking Hardware Picofly - a HWFLY switch modchip

The chip you are using is not supported in this thread mainly because of the reasons like these. You got the one with 250ohm on dat0 the next batch might have one with 600ohms or be missing that resistor completely. Read the Guide, use one of the supported boards and if you have any soldering...

Hacking Hardware Picofly - a HWFLY switch modchip

I would not follow this video, it complicates things too much. Just follow the guide from here and you are all set: https://gbatemp.net/download/a-definitive-picofly-install-guide.37968/download And no, you don't need mosfet when you use flex cable (it already has 2 mosfets attached)

Hacking Hardware Picofly - a HWFLY switch modchip

Not much harder than the one you have. Mosfet soldering can be a bit tricky (if ypu want to do a bare mosfet directlty to APU)but you can use the flex cable that came with your hwfly which is a bit easier. You still have to solder the points on the board but you need to do that anyway so.... The...

Late replay but yes, that was the idea. Deeps already explained pretty much everything that needs to be explained. You can give it a shot a replace the resistors on your current "hwfly" but as deeps already said, you should go with rp2040 boards that are supported in this thread (and in the...

Can you post a better picture of mosfet solderin (from little further away) because i am not able to see good. I dont think you are using these points:

Yes, a couple of times. Works great

Switch works without that cap. You can also replace that cap with ones found on rp2040 board. Don't give up, remove everything, clean everything, start over. Seems that you need better tools or skills (or both). Use 0.1-0.5 solder tip, use led based solder wire, good flux. Use 350°-400°...

Hacking Hardware Picofly - a HWFLY switch modchip

In your picture, the upper joint in the cap might be a cold joint since sometimes the enamel on the wire does not burn and the wire is just traped inside the solder joint while still insulated. The other points are not making good contact as well. You should skip the wire and press the mosfet to...

Hacking Hardware Picofly - a HWFLY switch modchip

This has been tried already (almost a year back) and it did not work. It all pointed to wires being to long and since timing is really the key for this glitch to work, it makes sense. However, as far as I remember, all the atempts to make this work were done by connecting the mosfet wires (from...

The component you are refering to is a SMD inductor most likely 0805. You can get it here: https://a.aliexpress.com/_Ez2Yqip

Do you mean this: https://gbatemp.net/threads/picofly-a-hwfly-switch-modchip.622701/post-10137417 If so, the 'bug" you are refering to was fixed in v2.66

I use 40 for everything, no problem so far but if you want to be on a safe side, 36 is more than enough for 3v3 and Ground. I would not use anything thicker than 36 on this mod because you just risk ripping something off.
