Hacking Gaming What USB Devices Work Well on the Wii?

It's a mixed bag. That is the problem. Many people use them fine so it really is mixed on what will or will not break. Tons of people use them without problems. Just as many people use an SSD of some type. This is what sparked the question in the first place. Tons of people say use thumb drives...

Hacking Gaming What USB Devices Work Well on the Wii?

As people add to this I will look over all ideas. So thank you to anybody that posts. I want a clear answer on a few thumb drives that work. All help is good but thumb drives are the most mixed when it comes to working or not.

Hacking Gaming What USB Devices Work Well on the Wii?

This is a very direct question. So I want to use some USB storage on the Wii that I just fixed. I see people all the time say some USB devices might not work. For now I was looking at mid sized thumb drives. I know many SSD drives work well. For mid sized things BestBuy had a few 512GB thumb...

Wii Problem. Very Odd Component Cable Trouble.

My dad helped. He had the tools to fix it so this was mostly him. He put new caps on the board. He happen to have easy tools to open it so it was good getting him in on this. So it's his work that fixed it. Much like the $1 Wii video we broke one set of pads so he had to put caps sideways in a...

Wii Problem. Very Odd Component Cable Trouble.

New update. So after opening the Wii and replacing a few caps even after some pad damage we now have a clean component image. It now runs at 480p. So to go back to what started this all my cable was fine my TV was fine and my Wii was the problem. The board has now been fixed even if the job is a...

Zelda tears of the kingdom software has closed, anyone else have had this?

Base game I was using for YouTube recordings has been fine. No errors or crashes. Some slow down but that was normal. Game is built for 30FPS so 60FPS seems to mess with the game a lot. All my recordings so far have been fine. No mods used. My copy of the game however is Japanese just so people...

Wii Problem. Very Odd Component Cable Trouble.

Got our parts on the way. First update in ages. If this works I will add a note that it did. It really seems like aged caps ruin the video output.

Wii Problem. Very Odd Component Cable Trouble.

Soon. Just need the parts. This will be worth doing and likely will restore the image.

Hacking GCN Is It Possible to Homebrew a Gamecube?

You can look up what I was going on about. the serial port 2 that never got used by Nintendo can be used with an SD2SP2 and run things off an SD card. But DOL-101 does not have the serial port 2 on it. It has the serial 1 as that port was used by Nintendo. Nintendo never used port 2 so to save...

Wii Problem. Very Odd Component Cable Trouble.

Don't have those fully ordered yet. But soon. Just trying to find the right voltage and I also want to know what that 16v cap on the motherboard controls. I know the 10v is USB and the 6v ones all seem to be audio and video. Not sure what the 16v is doing.

Hacking GCN Is It Possible to Homebrew a Gamecube?

DOL-01 has the extra port on the bottom. The DOL-01 has the serial 2 port on it. So you can run Swiss and your apps off an SD card that uses the serial port 2. If a GameCube is newer and does not have the component out it lacks that serial port 2 on the bottom. People make a serial SD card...

Wii Problem. Very Odd Component Cable Trouble.

Going to open my soon as the best guess I have is the bad caps. The age limit seems like the problem so in a few weeks I should have new caps added and that will finally solve our yes or no. It really does seem like that is the fix.

Hacking GCN Is It Possible to Homebrew a Gamecube?

The DOL-01 GameCube models have a few extra ways to do it if your GameCube is a DOL-01. Tons of mods exist for all models but the easier one to mod is the DOL-01.

Wii Problem. Very Odd Component Cable Trouble.

Unless somebody can 100% show me it is the HomeBrew messing with a setting I will stick to my theory that this Wii needs to be fixed. Based on other research it feels like the Wii has capacitor problems. Unless this is a weird HomeBrew error but nobody has came here and said oh it's likely this...

    HELP Nintendos loader doesn't work

Google that failed message and you can see many people with that problem. A few reasons can make that error happen. Nintendont does load GameCube ISO files off any Wii but you sometimes need to go try a few things on that IOS error to fix it.

    SD Card help

Wii hates SD Cards bigger than 32GB but USB Loader GX can normally see 1TB thumb drives. If you use an SD Card it normally needs to be 32GB as that was the Wii hard limit. Seeing as the Wii never supported USB storage you can go nuts with 1TB and be safe.

Hacking Emulation Homebrew Nintendont doesn't show up other regions games. pls help me :')

To run EU games on my US Wii I had to set Nintendont to force NTSC to get a EU Billy Hatcher to load correctly. PAL and NTSC games fight even if the Wii is modded to remove the lock out. Can't get the modded Wii to boot the disk at all but Nintendont can see the ISO rip and CleanRip made the...

Hardware Beloved Red Wii struggles with 480 progressive! Drop in/Out

My 07 Wii will not output component and I think I know why. Let me guess you likely also can get a clean 480i but the moment you try 480p things go badly. If it is like my Wii it is likely we both need capacitor fixes. It seems component is the first to go once a capacitor goes bad. The fix is...

Homebrew GCN [Gamecube] Memory Card can´t save ROM games?

Japanese saves will mess up an EU or US memory card. So always watch out with that. 3rd party cards can be bad as well. This month the MemCard PRO GC will drop and that company is building a Memory Card that uses a Micro SD Card to make saves so you can get tons of GC memory all in one place. It...

That is the new anti cheat mode that resets Pokemon to base to finally remove transfer only moves. Proof of this is that Pokemon that can be in more than one game and can remember the moves they had in that game only. So lets use Garchomp if you have a Garchomp and move it between Legends the...
