Hacking [Soldering]What does this behaviour mean?

Your points on the flex cable are still bridged. And you're missing some caps in that last photo. People say those are just to filter out noise. Again, each point from the pads on the flex goes to the left or right side of each cap it sits next to, not from one pad to the other. If it's booting...

Hacking Hardware Picofly - a HWFLY switch modchip

It doesn't need cutting on the OLED. Fits perfectly next to the heatsink on top of the ram.

One long, one short yellow light is Dat0 is not connected. Tell him to check the connection again. What value does he read in diode mode.

Hacking [Soldering]What does this behaviour mean?

The blinking yellow lights are the error code. The long space between the one long, then 3 shorts tells you it's that error. It'll cycle through a few times with that error code. The blue at the beginning just means it's trying to glitch. If success then you'll get the white single light to...

Hacking [Soldering]What does this behaviour mean?

I would fix your CPU flex cable first. Your problem isn't D0

Hacking [Soldering]What does this behaviour mean?

Your SP1/2 connections looked bridged. You're also missing something next to SP1 Should look similar to this. Yours looks like it's just a big blob across the whole cap.

Hacking Switch Lite, RP2040 New Lite FPC flex, modchip flashes

Well if he's just checking to see if it's booting properly before sealing everything up he should be ok. I usually at least have the cover and all that down before turning my devices back on. But yes photos help a lot of you're looking for help in troubleshooting.

Hacking Switch Lite, RP2040 New Lite FPC flex, modchip flashes

Yes you can boot without all that. Your dat0, cmd, and clk should read around 0.5+, while RST should read around 1.2+ or something. Also, that piece on the right of the flex needs to slide under the frame.

Oled mod gone wrong (cpu cap and pad missing)

Don't think I've seen any videos online with the back install. But it's pretty easy. The cap is much larger than the ones on the APU. Some people solder straight from the mosfet to the cap. Some use wires, which is what I've done in the past whenever I chose to do that back installation. Here's...

Hacking Hardware Picofly - a HWFLY switch modchip

If it's not an actual Wave Share tiny, then yes remove that one. I just did that to two of these over the weekend and can confirm that it works.

OLED getting D0 error but I have correct diode voltage

Also good to share what kind of chip you have. An rp2040 zero/tiny or HWFly style. Edit: You said PCB so I'm guessing HWFly style.
  15. bvang913

Would the HWFly v3 be enough to successfully mod an OLED Switch?

You need more than that. That is only the CPU flex cable. Looks like nothing else is included. If you go the HWFly route you're still missing several components needed. There's another flex cable that is soldered to points on the board as well as an adapter that slides under the emmc. And last...

Hacking I have Switch Firmware 17.0.1, can I still hack it?

There are lots of resources out there. But also, I would recommend doing the research and having some soldering experience before even buying a chip. Good luck

@Jayro, I don't see whats so special about the DS ML, its just a DS lite in a phat shell. At least the phat model had louder speakers, whereas the lite has a much better screen.

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

  • cearp @ cearp:
@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM
  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
