Vote reflected (it's already on the list =P)
I added God of War Collection.
2 great games in one at a low price, two full sets of trophies and GOW3 demo.
I've played both GOWs on my PS3 upscaled but the graphics honestly was still quite bad on 42" LCD TV.
And the play time is just right till...
I think you just have to sign up and actually use newsgroup and see it for yourself. Really, the monthly fee (if you choose to use one that charges you) is nothing compared to the speed boost you get over torrents.
True but I've downloaded hundreds of GB via Torrents and they're reasonably fast.
MGS4 is like $30 brand new at most major electronics/game store around here so if 50GB is too much then you can just go out buy a used copy of MGS4 and download a dozen PS3 games that sum up to 50GB instead...
Personally when I pirate games the size or the number of discs doesn't matter to me, I still save $50 by downloading 30GB (counting hash-failed data or par2 files depending on where you download games) and burning 4 discs to play Lost Odyssey.
Can't understand why a couple games out of hundreds...
I like the XMB.
It doesn't shove too many unnecessary menus in your face, and I found it very intuitive to use.
Same interface across PSP and PS3 is actually a pro for me. I'd bet that relatively casual gamers who transitioned from one to the other would also appreciate it.
(Basically think...
There is a plugin that supposedly keeps the CFW if you completely power down.
I enabled it but didn't work (tried it only once) so I just carry chickHEN and 5.03 GEN-B updater in my memory card just in case.
Am I the only one who thought this was more of a incentive to legit users?
I mean, if you were smart enough to unplug your flagged-but-not-yet-banned console you're not going to take the bait.
Actually downloading PS3 game images shouldn't be an issue if one can afford to download 360 images.
Because there's no difference in read speed between the inner and outer layer of BD unlike DVDs,
BD images contain no dummy so the PS3 version game image would be smaller than the 360 game...
But if you played wave patched games then you'll very probably get banned so wouldn't it beat the purpose of using LT?
I thought the readme text for the patch made it very clear.
I bet the console doesn't see much difference between patched games and non-stealthed games.
Anyway, patched...
Game companies make crap games and blame piracy for their low sales (also architecture and some other bullshit for their PS3 ports).
By mass banning not only can MS boost their hardware sales, pretend they conquered piracy and later probably will slip something in so pirates would come back and...
Geez, did I really write "if under the condition" man, what was I thinking.
Anyway, it's just simple math. The actual barrier is not the price but people's perception.
I don't know why people still think Blu-ray writers and discs are expensive.
The only scenario modding PS3 would be not cost efficient would be:
1.Buy a Blu-ray writer and buncha Blu-ray discs.
2.Burn 2 games. Play them.
3.Never use that Blu-ray writer again for the rest of your life...
Not all bundles are equally available, I'd recommend that you buy the cheapest bundle you can find and just download the games.
There aren't 20 colors to choose from and the games are inappropriate for resale (just comes as UMD in a paper slip) so I don't see much difference between the bundles...
Interesting. Because of previous Playstations I had no problem using PS3 controller but I couldn't stand Shooters that mapped the fire button to R2.
L2/R2 are pressure sensitive buttons but they're not trigger buttons and mapping fire button to it just doesn't make any sense. (Ever played a...
Considering how the PS3 Essentials list was once flooded by people saying "PS3 has no games" I find this move quite funny.
I've had both for a couple years and my (PS3 games purchased / month) and (360 games pirated / month) are about the same back in 2006~2007 and in 2009.
I just don't get...
To add on top of what people said,
some online contents are IP region locked (meaning you need to connect to PSN with a certain region's IP regardless of the console's region)
And some games button mapping will follow your console's region instead of the game's region.
I have a Japanese game...
