    Uneducated guess from inspecting the kernel-files: 2020 and earlier are "r4i-sdhc.com"-clones, 2021 is a clone based off r4itt/dstt. No, they're different. One hint is that 2021 can't be used for ntrboothax anymore, which was possible with 2020 and older models...

    PS2 got twice that many. It's interesting what mc-images are the same for which BIOS-versions. 3.0 US and 4.0 JP? 2.1, 2.2 and 3.0 JP? 2.1 US/EU and 2.2 US/EU, but then 3.0 EU all alone? Funny. Final Challenge: NoCash's replacement-BIOS. :P

    Running kernels on carts which aren't supported can have bad consequences, too. Try all the kernels linked in here with the new card, but if it's still not working, and you can rule out any issues with the SD-card or with the contacts of the cart, it's most likely dead for real.
