Hacking Seem to have Banner Bricked a Wii. Any advice to fix?

Alright, looking around, I have located an old drivechip. I think it was a Yaosm, and if I remember correctly this had a Beta? version of 3.0 of its software. So now for a few questions. 1) If I installed it, what would I do to fix the system then? 2) How can I tell if it can even be installed...

No nand dump. Tried tossing in an old game while in the recovery menu, the firmware version vanishes but it just stays as a black screen.

Hacking Seem to have Banner Bricked a Wii. Any advice to fix?

Well, I was helping a friend install a few of his games to load off a USB drive and have the channels on the front, and installing the channel for A boy and his blob seemed to of caused a banner brick. So far, I have had no luck getting the system up and running. I have taken apart a gamecube...

Homebrew Is there a Disk Verifier Application?

I am getting in the mail a fairly large lot of Gamecube and Wii games, and wanted to be able to test them all quickly so I could return any that didn't work. Is there any sort of Application that would allow me to just do a disk verify rather then having to dump the disk?

Hardware Problems with my disk drive, I think its busted

Ok, I am having a fairly major issue with my disk drive. The motor for it doesn't turn on at all when I try to put a disk in, but it is detecting that I am trying to put a disk in, as the system will still turn on. The warranty is up, and I played around with the insides quite a bit, so is...

    GBA #2818 - Pixeline i Pixeline (Europe)

Most likely was dumped today, some group must of just realized it existed. Still most likely 100ish GBA games missing for the scene, though I doubt any of them or noteworthy and nothing more then single language versions of other games..

    Hacking Some questions about AC

So, is the reason the scrubbed version doesn't work due to the releaser removing the IOS updates and IOS38 not being in the 3.4 update? Or is there anther reason the scrubbed version doesn't work.

    Hacking Some questions about AC

... Did you guys miss the "No copy of Zelda TP on me" part? My main question is, without doing anything, if I just stick the Goomba version of Animal Crossing in, will it work?

    Hacking Wii backup loader......looks real!

You know, while people always point out that Piracy killed the PSP, there are a ton of people I have seen who owned the PSP, got like 3 games for it, and never touched the thing again. And there are also the people who bought FFVII: CC, beat it a few times, never touched the system again. I...

Eventhough the New 3DS XL is more powerful, I still feel like the DS Lite was a more polished system. It's a real shame that it never got an XL variant keeping the GBA slot. You'd have to go on AliExpress and buy an ML shell to give a DS phat the unofficial "DS Lite" treatment, and that's the best we'll ever get I'm afraid.

The phat model had amazingly loud speakers tho.

@Jayro, I don't see whats so special about the DS ML, its just a DS lite in a phat shell. At least the phat model had louder speakers, whereas the lite has a much better screen.

They probably said "Hey, why not we combine the two together and make a 'new' DS to sell".
  • Veho @ Veho:
It's a DS Lite in a slightly bigger DS Lite shell.

    It's not a Nintendo / iQue official product, it's a 3rd party custom.

Nothing special about it other than it's more comfortable than the Lite
    for people with beefy hands.

@SylverReZ if you could find a v5 DS ML you would have the best of both worlds since the v5 units had the same backlight brightness levels as the DS Lite unlockable with flashme

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.

  • cearp @ cearp:
@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM
  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm
