So from what I understand CGFX is a container format for textures, models, shaders and other data.
When you say "open the cgfx in EFE" I've lost you because from what I see neither EFE or Ohana3DS recognise .cgfx files. Do I need to rename them to something else?
I'm having a similar problem...
That just makes it very difficult, not impossible.
It is a pain though, currently trying to hack Style Savvy and there is zero info about anything and very few of the files in romfs are easy to work with.
I only have the DP version, if you find the Platinum version yourself can you please post a link here? I'll probably have another search for it tomorrow.
I find this works best, and for any emulator/program too.
Open Task Manager (CTRL+SHIFT+ESC), go to the "Processes" tab, right click the program you want to speed up and "Set Priority" to "Above Normal".
Basically it means that it gets to use your CPU ahead of any other non-important programs...
Pokemon games used sequenced music, much like sheet music, and how it sounds depends on what 'instrument' is playing it. Since the GBC and DS have different 'instruments' they can't sound exactly the same unless the DS uses a wave-type format, which would take up too much space.
Okay, so what should I do if it says "Awaiting payment" and I'm not actually sure if the payment phase of the checkout actually worked? No money has been taken or held from my bank/cc account. Should I just contact ShopTemp to ask what the actual status on my order is?
I used the AK2i discount...
Firmware means it replaces your existing R4 menu meaning you will always be using YSMenu. Many people do this, but personally I'd pick one of the other options as there are some games that work on the regular R4 1.18 but not on YSMenu. Better to have both IMO.
Easiest way to fix the Pokedex problem is to clone any pokemon in your boxes (ie. load a PKM into an empty slot), change its species to Gengar (or whatever) and tick the "Is Egg" box and set steps to 1.
Then all you need to do is hatch the egg and you'll get a Lv1 Gengar and he'll be added to...
Thanks for all the help everyone. I apologise for the rushed thread.
To be fair I now understand why there are so many of these "I'm lost, please redirect me threads" the GBAtemp search system is terrible. I'll just stick to Google Site Search from now on methinks.
I did a quick search of the forums and only found info about EDGE 1.8 running this game.
I've tried running it via the default R4 menu and through YSMenu and no luck either way. I know the R4 is pretty much a dead card, but am I overlooking anything or just a matter of waiting for an AP code?
There isn't any save editor I know of, but assuming the save data isn't encrypted or compressed (not the smartest assumption, but you'll find out soon enough) its shouldn't be too hard to correct it.
What I've done for older games is fairly simple, but may not work;
1) Create a new save with...
Darn.
That said I am fairly handy with ROM hacking and such, is there a kind of 'checklist' of things I should try to do to the ROM to try get it to work? I know it probably won't work, but its worth a shot.
Not my kids, I'm just the "tech guy" that they go to for stuff like this. Unfortunately I have no idea how to fix it.
In any case, regardless of which menu I boot the game from I just get a white screen. Its published by Activision if that gives any clues.
But yeah while we all notice that...
Been trying to get this working before I get my head torn off.
I tried an arm7fix based on some googling, but it didn't work. I've used 1.18 and YSmenu on my R4 to try load it. Any suggestions?
If you want to get into ROM hacking, I'd recommending practicing on Chrono Trigger. It a great game to learn things like relative searching and there is plenty of documentation on the game to help you.
alright guys i just started a blog where i make my essays (not my school essays unless i'd find them something i'd want to post here), and started by copy pasting my essay about the dictionary into a blog entry
