ROM Hack Animal Crossing Translation

I would like to translate Animal Crossing Wild World to my own language, what do i need ?

I have:.

1- NintendoDS
1- SuperCard SD
1- FlashMe
1- 512 Mb SD Card

Some programing skills but mainly Php and Html, and that is not needed in here :'(

Can anyone help me ?

I can sorta only need some advices and some help as i have a team ready to translate the text´s, but they don´t know a thing about NDS or something.

I took a look at the US rom after I pulled it apart in NDSTool and in the data\script\ENG\ directory there is a bunch of subdirectories with a load of .bmg files that contain the text.
Unfortunately it is compressed and I do not know with what algorithm (I am guessing some LZ77 variant: http://oldwww.rasip.fer.hr/research/compre...nd/lz/lz77.html ) A lot of the text is readable though.

Should I have some more time I will try and do a proof of concept, if you have a translation team in place you could contact the good people at this website: http://www.translationrl.it/

One final thing, you could translate a fair bit of New Super Mario Brothers (you could do the non image sections of the menus easily) and it would only take a couple of hours, I am willing to provide some help with this one as well: http://gbatemp.net/index.php?act=ST&f=41&t=32910&st=12

Thanks... Ill translate first the New Super Mario Bros to Portuguese and then with some new things ill learnt, i will try the Animal Crossing.

But if you discover something new, please help me... thanks


EDIT:. I Disassembled it... now i have all the folders and that stuff.
Do you know where is the Text for the npc´s..shop...menu and that stuff ?

EDIT 2:. I tried to work with NewSMB and i was able to translate some texts, but when i made the rom again and tested it on my SuperCard SD it did have the sound and the symbol of Nintendo, but then the game crashes...

Translating roms is not an easy task, it is slightly easier as we are dealing with Latin based languages being translated into other Latin based languages as opposed to Asian to Latin ones, we also lucked out on these few DS roms in that they use plain ASCII unlike 90% of other systems roms.

For NSMB I had to use NDSTS to tweak the rom as it leaves the filesystem untouched (I hear supercards are not great fans of NDSTool hacked roms as well). You might also want to grab an older version of NDSTool, I have one on my site: http://www.4shared.com/dir/514850/ef8a1bee/sharing.html

I have also been looking at the "header section" of the files and have figured out what a nice bit of it is/does and will hopefully be able to give a breakdown of it and reassembly data, if I can I will try and code something to do it as well although I took a look at some of the Windows UI coding documentation and ran so anything I make will probaly be complex and use a CLI instead.
