Is there a way to unhide files and folders permanently?

What the title says, I recently downloaded a game but when decompressing the file I ended up with an empty folder, only to realize the files are all hidden similar to how PS Vita system files work, is there a way to force unhide them?

Yes there is an option in windows explorer to always show hidden files and folders, if you are talking about the vita itself then my FTP client (winscp) shows hidden files and folders by default

That’s not really what I meant 😅
I can access these files and folders when I unhide hidden files in Folder settings but I was wondering how to remove the hidden behavior on these specific files? Right click and uncheck hidden does not work on Vita files and folders... I’m using windows 7 if it makes any difference.

Make a new text document, paste this and save it as a batch file (.bat) ...

@echo off
CHCP 65001
set /p drive=Please input the Vita drive letter (with :) (ex F:):
echo Please wait...
attrib -h "%drive:~,2%"\* /S /D -s -r
echo Done !
pause

Thats the way i do it, if i connect my vita over usb, works great.

Well that's what it's called when u want to change file attributes
I looked up a tutorial and it worked, since I’m not very experienced in cmd I had to do it manually with every file but it worked, I wonder if this works on the PS Vita system files, probably too risky to try.

So I just create the .pat file and place it in the Vita memory and files will show up normally?

No, you have to create a blank text document under windows and save it as xxx.bat ...

You have to connect your vita over USB to "unhide" all files.
Its only useful if you use USB instead of FTP with VitaShell.

I went ahead and tested to unhide the files and folders inside my PS Vita memory, seems to be working fine.

If anyone is interested to unhide their files and folders inside the PS Vita memory card here’s what to do:

1- Connect your PC to your PS Vita via USB cable.
2- Open vitashell and press “Select” to connect to your PC
3- Open your PS Vita folder on your PC then on the “adress bar” type “cmd” and hit “Enter”
4- A Command Prompt (cmd) will pop up, inside of it type this:

Code:
attrib -h -s -a -r /d /s

It should enable all of your hidden files and folders, hopefully this will help.

**Use it on your own risk, I’m not responsible if you brick your device**
