When you say "useless", do you mean it gives you an error or doesn't even start the procedure? What message does it give you?

It would seem that your PSP not only doesn't show the initial eboots image from the menu, but doesn't read the files on the MS at all.

Have you checked if at least it WRITES the saves on MS, playing from UMD?

Assumption:
1) As several people have said, it could be the pins in the PSP slot, which are dirty or don't make contact (optimistic hypothesis and remediable);

2) As one user said, it could be a NAND corruption, caused by the last file copied from PC (pessimistic and irremediable hypothesis).
The "useless" that meaning is nothing changes at all and last time before I formated, MS still has some savegame of UMD could be read.
I think I will check this one : "As several people have said, it could be the pins in the PSP slot, which are dirty or don't make contact (optimistic hypothesis and remediable)" Thank you a lot.
