I hate this CFW vs Gateway shit, it's just as bad as menuhax vs a9lh. Don't you children have better things to do than argue about a binary file and a piece plastic plastic? Getting a girlfriend is an adequate replacement for arguing on internet forums! However, i will say we should give credit where credit is due. Gateway team developed the MSET hack (albeit with guidance from 3DBrew wiki) and released it to the public in a period of time in the 3DS hacking scene when the devs had no intention of releasing any hacks due to their anti-piracy stance. And it's also noteworthy to mention that Gateway also developed and publicised the concept of an emuNAND. Yes yes, i know, it's essentially defunct now in more recent years. But for a long time emuNAND was a fundamental concept of 3DS hacking and progressed the scene forward exponentially. I'm fully aware that other devs achieved emuNAND, but did they release it or have intention of releasing it? Nope! On the other side of the fence, the two bricking fiasco's are inexcusable. They lost a lot of my respect for that, despite me being a supporter and user of Gateway products. However, history has shown us that that even homebrew devs can be evil sometimes. Judging by the posts in this thread, I highly doubt anyone here is old enough to remember the days of the DS scene. During the days of FlashMe, a respected homebrew developer released firmware that PURPOSELY perma-bricked unsuspecting users DS units. It's not just the big evil corporate machine engaging in questionable behaviour....
FMA seemed more metaphysical. Like Alchemy was a mysterious comic phenomenon, that gave you an experience.
In brotherhood it seemed more direct. Like there was a "god of alchemy that" one met. And it liked humbling people
