Too many devices, too few frequencies. If you're streaming content to your ps4 from a computer, for instance, you'll notice a huge speed potential from an all gigabit ethernet setup over wireless. it'll depend entirely on your internet speed though when comparing gameplay on ps4 and whatnot. Those 1300 Mbps wireless advertised you see for wireless AC will not equal 1000Mbps wired since only one device can talk at a time, so you've got to half that(simplification, but you get the idea). Wireless N gets around 450mbs, so a gigabit ethernet (1000mbs) will definitely allow for faster. Course, since you're in the US, you might not notice much of a difference...but the PS4 has a gigabit ethernet connector, and it's wireless N doesn't come close to that.

for both, for tech reasons. DNS just handles translating ip addresses to current human-friendly web addresses (something like that). Google will probably be able to do that work quicker than you internet provider, so it's not a bad thing to switch. If you see a sudden increase of speed from that, your internet provider is really terrible lol
unnecessary explanation no one asked for: If you can upgrade your router to something that works in both 2.4 and 5ghz range, you might be able to do better with the speed...but most people's problems come with over-saturation of the available channels. I bought a pair of joy cons for really cheap, but the right side wasn't being detected by the console when attached to it, it was charging though

I took a look at the rail and noticed that the two last pins were soldered for some reason, luckly I still had the rail of my broken joycon so after I swapped them I was able to use it attached to the console

I'm pretty sure I know the reason it was soldered, but I don't know why someone would do that directly on the joycon
