Homemade ice coffee

I'm not one that's too picky, I'll enjoy a nice warm cup of coffee next to a cold one but I've never really attempted to make my own at home. I've always loved buying from Dunkin, Starbucks every now and then and even McDonald's.

I've been experimenting with it and found a way that suits my taste buds. What I'll do is make a 12 cup pot of coffee hot then whatever's left I'll store in the fridge and let it get cold because we'll it'll obviously melt if it's hot over ice. So I'll let it chill in the fridge over night.

So I just grab a cup pour some ice into then start half way with coffee, then add milk until it's almost full and a dash of vanilla extract along with some brown sugar. No real exact measurements I just wing it careful not too add too much vanilla extract. Forgot to mention another dash of your favorite creamer flavor helps also.

It's fun and a good money saver to try new food experiments at home give it a try. :)

Brown sugar sounds nice! I've never tried that one.

I bought some Torani syrups to try to replicate the sugary coffee drinks I like. They work really well. A bit of cold coffee, some milk, vanilla, and white chocolate sauce, or mint sauce, etc. So much better than normal coffee with cream and sugar imo

Might have to try Torani I remember seeing them all the time when I worked in retail, they're about the same price as a large container of creamer also. Guessing you'd just pour a small dab into it and stir?

Usually what I do is make an extra strong pot, add whatever creamer a little sugar toss that in the fridge then add the ice and chocolate syrup as the last stage before serving.

I caved and bought french toast Torani though butter pecan was tempting to try alive with fruity Pebble chocolate creamer, does buying that creamer make me a child? Probably do I care? Nope.

Usually I have been doing frnch vanilla, with Starbucks whole beans that I fresh grind right before I put it in my coffee machine. I like the sumatra one or any of the dark roast ones is pretty good.

I went through this phase of ice coffee experimentation a few months ago... brown sugar and vanilla extract sounds divine, I might have to try that. I do a big jug of cold brew, chill it, then add milk and sweetener each cup. Not sure why I never thought to add vanilla.

I grew up in a folgers home probably because it was cheaper then most, honestly looking back kind of glad I grew up in a poor income household really has helped teach me not to be so picky with what I put around me.

Dunkin, Starbucks every now and then and even McDonald's?! They taste awful and overcooked. And gross and worse! VOMIT ABSOLUTELY VOMIT! Improperly and wrong way.

I absolutely loved Europe real coffee.. and an old fashion and strong cultures like Arab, Portugal, Spain, and France. Tea and Coffee... Chá and Café.. My gosh. Perfect! Never changed. Very expensive import over here in America. In Europe is very cheap and affordable.. Very taste.

Take a piece of advice from an old man.
Don't bother trying to add sugar, and cream, and ice.
Simply add a scoop of French Vanilla ice cream.
You can thank me later.

Yeah I've seen a popular new trend is going to McDonald's getting coffee then dumping ice cream into it lol

  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Again you get what you pay for, its like buying a S series for $300 but its only 1440p native, if you want true 4k, gotta get the X model for $500. But yea you right, when moms buying it anyways, you gotta stay cheap.

I'm designing my own entertainment cabinet for my man cave, to store all my systems, then I'm also designing a power supply/HDMI switcher so I can switch to whichever system I want, and power it also. Already picked up the cabinet board, but tinkering with my drawings before start
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
But yea, I have frogger arcade cabinet that I gutted and put a Pi4 then Pi5 into, but it never gets played much anymore, should sell it. Even when the kids come over, they don't want to play on it, just the xbox. TMNT and Simpson's arcade is still so fun on it, esp w 2 players.
